Everyone is expecting him to make the same jump Mettenberger made under similar circumstances.
1. Full year of SEC experience under the belt
2. Return top 3-4 receivers
3. Return most of an experienced oline
4. New coordinator to tailor to his skillset
Burrow is also a much better leader than Mett.
It's not crazy to think that he can throw for over 3,000 yards and 25 tds, which is a slight improvement over last year and a damn good year in the SEC.
Add in the rushing ability he possesses, and I honestly don't see how other fan bases don't understand our excitement. It seems pretty obvious that he is due for a really good year.

I think he plays hard and is a gamer. I also think he is more so a game manager at best, he is good but not exactly carry a team good

He's one tough mf'er. Not that you guys would know anything about having a tough qb.

Seems like the kind of guy that will get better after a year of experience, no?

Compared to their recent QBs he is great. They just don’t understand that their recent QBs suck and Burrow is average.

Bookmark this...Burrow will throw for over 3,000 yards and 25 TD's this season.
That's great considering what LSU has been used to lately.

Lsu sent Delpit to take out Tua’s knee bc that was the only way they had a shot. The crowd cheered. Tua shook it off and put 3 tds on corndog

Nobody is more skeptical about LSU offensive system changes than our local sports media. The system they are now running can be confirmed by listening to any of their 8 hours of daily podcasts. I know- it’s a miracle- they modernized the offense to take advantage of their personnel.
Joe Brady was brought in from the Saints to be OC in waiting. His offense has been installed. Whether it works is uncertain, but it has been installed. Being familiar with our personnel and depth and seeing 5/6 NFL receivers on this roster, I am optimistic.

Burrow had a 31% completion inside the redzone
Half of those throws were against a&m in overtime.

It has everything to do with the changing of the offense. And not just the spread the ball / receivers in space coach speak that we hear and really doesn’t mean that much. You hear coordinators say this all across the country every season, and it doesn’t always happen.
It’s more about more high % throws that will not be coming from under center, which was a huge detriment to Burrow last year. The style of offense LSU ran last year was foreign to Burrow, but he made it work to an extent. This year it’s been said by someone else nearly every week that this offense is what Burrow is comfortable with and grew up playing in, not just in high school but his 3 years at Ohio State as well. I think this is the biggest reason for optimism with Burrow among others.
If we put it in order I’d say:
1. Burrow being more comfortable with this offense (not under center, RPO, etc)
2. Burrow’s comfortability with staff and team in general with over a year under his belt rather than 3 months
3. Talented, experienced WR group he will be throwing to with presumably higher % throws
This is what I think leads to the Burrow optimism. Will it pan out as well as LSU fans hope? Obviously remains to be seen, and probably not. But there’s a lot of reasons to be excited so don’t count it out completely.

If Burrow had a bad knee and BAMA hit him like this y’all would lose your minds

Why would we be mad about an obvious shot to the waist? He clearly sticks his helmet in his midsection. This is a reach.

Clean hit. And don't slow it down.

Don’t be mad then if BAMA returns the favor this fall
Clean hit and all
