Didn't big ten teams and notre dame knock all the sec teams out of the playoffs last year? You guys can cry about the big ten all you want but you'll get every opportunity to settle it on the field come playoff time.

Ohio State is currently on a 9 game winning streak and has an equal number of wins vs sec teams and big ten teams in that timespan. If the sec is so much better why isnt it showing up in these head to head matchups?

The biggest problem is there is not enough interconference play to justify one conference’s 10-2 over the other. The 3 non-cons for all P4 schools should be against one team each from the other P4s. It wouldn’t be perfect but it would paint a little clearer picture.

A&M hasn't played anyone and they've shot up to #5

A&M has moved up steadily (not "shot up" ) from #21 by winning a huge game, taking care of business against lesser teams, looking impressive against two middle-of-the-road SEC teams, and advancing when teams(like ILL,
Texas and Penn St) get exposed.

If there is ANY team that deserves its current high ranking, it is THIS A&M team.

Not saying they'll stay there, but they are certainly NOT undeserving.

That ucla loss is inexcusable. UCLA is awful and is probably the worst P4 team, and bottom 10 overall D1 team.

They had not led in any game this year until Pedo st, and they played some bad teams.

I don't disagree. That said, UCLA probably doesn't have bottom 10 talent. If culture/coaching issues were mitigated to a degree following an in-season coaching change, it can provide a spark. But I don't disagree that Penn State is extremely overrated.

I'd argue that Miami is the best that really deserves its ranking. A&M has looked the part these past 2 weeks, but not so much prior. The defense looked soft.

Right now they look pretty solid, but my point was who really isn't getting a pass right now. It's not a dig at A&M, I just don't think looking at SOS right now is a great way at evaluating a team.

A&M and Miami should be at the top. But I get Ohio State being up there until they lose.

Because Arch Manning is not their quarterback.

I swear that Arkansas State plays a more difficult schedule than Oregon does. For all of the complaining that the B1G did toward the SEC only playing 8 conference games, they sure do play really soft schedules.

well I agree with that, except all we have to go on now is results, and it's better than we had 4 or 5 weeks ago.

Also, the fact A&M looks much improved than they did 3 weeks ago should not be a hindrance. We're ranking based ion all results, with obvious more weight given to recent performance.

p.s. the teams I'm really questioning now (honestly dont know) is how good is Ole Miss, LSU, and Mizzou. (and I'll throw in TN and OU).

Honestly to balance it out Texas and OU probably should have joined the BIG (this isn't Texas hubris its to make the conference more balanced).

Actually I’m sure the Big ten would have welcomed you and Oklahoma. It would have meant a lot more money to the conference at the very least. It would have been beneficial to both you also, because there are northwesterns, iowas, Marylands (well cancel that) Rutgers and UCLA to feast on.

Like when LSU jumped into the Top 5 for taking down Mighty #4 Clemson?

Not defending LSU or OSU but Clemson and Tejas were supposed to be legitimate title contenders. This was pretty much in almost every sports publication for the last several months. Maybe their coaches shouldn’t frick things up. Or the players to actually live up to the hype

Honestly I give LSU more credit for that win bc it was on the road. It's fukn hard to win on the road vs a decent team nowadays.

Post material for you in advance:

There's an argument that Ole Miss had a predictable let-down game following a very emotional loss to Florida Nov. 15 in Oxford!. This will be used when you lose to UF and then Miss State back-to-back...

This isn’t a dig at the SEC, but the Big10 like the Pac12 has academic requirements that OU wouldn’t meet.

Against 0-4 UCLA? Time will tell but UCLA is pretty bad.

CFP is an emotional game so maybe upsets happen but that was a bad loss for sure.

LOL... yeah....

If you are going to have to play a possible "let down" game on the road after a tough loss.

You'd think an 0-4 team who fired their coach already and was being played in a stadium that was 25% full would be about as good as it gets.
