In the meantime KJ Jefferson better start working on his sliding.
We have another FR 4* QB in Lucas Coley who is 6’3” 220lbs that will likely be KJ’s successor. He is a mobile QB that will thrive in the system.
Hornsby leaving was inevitable. If KJ doesn’t go pro after next season, that would mean Hornsby was the backup for 4 seasons before getting a chance to start. Even in the time before the portal, he would likely be leaving anyway.

....and still angry the Hawgs beat that aggy arse

Well then the rumor they left because of said position coach is false.

I'm familiar with Coley and believe he will be a good SEC quarterback. I just would rather not see him thrown into the fire before he's ready.

The Walmart people aren't providing enough NIL or hershey's kisses.

It is a matter of a numbers game. Arkansas is way over the scholarship limit.

Unless it deals with bike trails.

The only people who are going to be tuning in to college football in five years are going to either be gamblers or age 40 and under.

There is some truth to this. A lot of these guys had to go.
Let's just stop pretending Foucha and Brooks are included in that.
But we're not losing 14 guys or whatever the count is, we're losing 3: Foucha, Brooks, and Hornsby and maybe 1 or two more that we hoped to keep.
While I'm sad to see him go, Hornsby wasn't going to play much for a while. I'm sure they fought to keep him but it's probably not going to have a huge effect on us, at least in the near future.
So we took 2 gut shots, no doubt. Then people started looking at the portal numbers and assumed we took 14 gut shots

Foucha and Brooks isn't that big of a loss.
They were solid but limited. I think we have guys coming up that will play just as good if not better.
Brown going to the NFL is the harder player to replace.

This problem is at every school.
NFL or bust. You're going to see schools with Yo-Yo records in the future (good programs as well)

I’d hate to be a college coach trying to manage a roster eatery year with the transfer portal and NIL.

As individual players, I'd agree. But losing both at the same time is a big hit to our already shitty depth at DB. Unless we make some huge moves in the portal, folks are going to be routinely dropping 400 yards passing on next year's defense.

Only shitheads downvote a legit question...site is full of ruff putters.

few of them give a shite about their team
Sadly true and only in the sense of
(with apologies to JFK) "ask not what I can do
for my team but what the team can do for me."
With the transfer portal, NIL and big loose money,
college football has reverted to the wild west.
Everybody who leaves to play the
market, has the same message : "Love this school, love the team & fans
but sorry, it's what's best for me."

Of the ones leaving, 2 are from Louisiana and said their leaving was a bidness decision. Money??
2 are from Oklahoma. They are young but really haven't touched the field. They want OK to pick them

LSU could reap some benefits here. Everyone wants to harp on our recruiting class but people seem to forget that now we just have a lot more openings for more experienced college players than high school players.. We’ll see how it all shakes out, but Polian is off to a very good start so far and I wouldn’t count them out for a lot of these guys. Plug and play guys just like Frazier.

Yes... and it was yes last night too.

Players are leaving all teams, not just Arkansas. I'd say it is the same as we have seen, they are recruiting better players and the ones leaving want playing time.
