Hey, have you also heard that we haven’t been very good lately? News to me!

It’s beyond me how Tennessee’s “recruiting challenges” are somehow something new.

In your heyday, Clemson, South Carolina, UNC, NC State, Virginia, Va Tech, and UGA we’re all struggling. Now they are just as invested financially as you are into football. Your state doesn’t have the talent if a LA, AL, GA, or even MS.

It’s going to be harder for you to compete. Much harder.

What traditional power could survived the incompetence since 09?

Literally the chancellors on down have blown arse.

This has always been the case.

Good coaching and administrators have over come it.

Also, what do you consider Tennessee’s heyday?

Dude. Butch freaking Jones brought in a top 5 class.

It’s not an insurmountable problem. We just need a coach that doesn’t suck and an administration that’s not incompetent, and we haven’t had either in 15 years.

I get the Iron bowl, the egg bowl, and even auburn/Georgia. but you don't get to keep another one which is not a rivalry when one team wins 14 in a row. And why do Tennessee fans not seem to complain about it? do you enjoy getting embarrassed every year.
Guess which team is 2nd in most SEC wins, and winning %?

You believe Tennessee hasn’t always had recruiting challenges?

When did the “heyday” start?

Tennessee has always recruited nationally. We were on National TV consistently back when every game wasn’t televised. Our recruiting budget is typically the highest in the nation. For a long time we were pulling the best players from all kinds of states. The clausens were from CA for example.

Dooley’s magical 350 mile rule for recruiting destroyed a lot of those established recruiting avenues.

What is it about LSU fans and the TSIO game?

But I’ll try to explain.. suppose LSU won 7 in a row over A&M.. and someone said “oh I guess that game is pretty meaningless to you.” And the next year the score was 74-72 or something. Is that game still meaningless? Now multiply that feeling by ten to get TSIO.

Now go outside and play for two hours.

Because LSU would like a better rotation of east opponents and the “rivalry” between ut/bama is a huge reason why. Nobody cares that yall beat Tennessee every year. Since Saban arrived yall basically beat everybody every year

-LSU hasn’t played Tennessee in Baton Rouge since 2010.
-LSU hasn’t played at South Carolina since 2008.
-LSU hasn’t played Vanderbilt in Baton Rouge since 2009.
-LSU hasn’t played at Kentucky since 2007.
-Had it not been for a hurricane last year LSU still would not have had a game at Missouri.

Its pretty silly to go that long when those teams are in your conference.

Seems like it's only LSU fans who have a problem with this game.
I guess Michigan/Ohio St is no longer a rivalry using this logic. Bama only had a 5 game lead in the series before Saban and the worst stretch in the history of UTK football.

AU/UGA also stood in the way of a true rotation but you guys never bitch about that one; always TSIO. Must be the seething inferiority complex that makes you focus so much on Bama

You want to play South Carolina, Kentucky, Missouri, and Vanderbilt more, and therefore we should throw away a 100+ year rivalry? Pussy

One is an instate rivalry while one is not. It’s easy to understand the egg bowl and not get why the annual rent a win for Alabama is worth saving. A better comparison would have been Auburn/UGA compared to Alabama/Tennessee
