Why is Alabama so bad at basketball?

Anthony Grant and Avery Johnson stood no chance there.
R.I.P. to the current coach.
You run out a coach who is successful everywhere else he goes, but he goes to Bama and he sucks.
This tells me it's a athletic department/booster problem.
Are the facilities and support for basketball that bad at Bama? Is it just Football and Softball (sometimes) and that's it?

They honored first black player Wendall Hudson
I guess they felt bad getting rid of Avery and Grant.

I mean we gave him a big yearly paycheck to go 14-64 in the SEC over a 5 year stretch for the women's program, which is probably more of a honor than your number hanging in the rafters anyway

Alabama hasn’t retired a number in any sport. Ever. Until Saturday. I’d think that’s a pretty massive honor regardless of how long it took.
