Did I do that right, it's been a long time since logic classes in school back in the day

love the thread, exposes the truth that

calling lsu scared because they want a 6 and 2 schedule

is just as dumb as

calling Alabama scared because they want a 6-1-1 schedule

That's the real issue.

Along those lines, which SEC schools are opposed to a 9th conference game?

A 9th game would allow everyone to be happy (keeps rivarlies and more rotation of cross division opponents). And it would give the SEC Network another conference game to broadcast. Might be worth more money in the CBS/ESPN negotiations.

Who's afraid of playing 9 conference games???

It isn't LSU's lone championship, and, if I'm not mistaken, LSU doesn't officially claim it. It is funny you are trying to give a history lesson to others

I was just going by what some other nimrod in the thread was using to say that LSU was old money. I personally could give a shite less who claims it, I was responding specifically to that statement.

In typical DS fashion, he responds to almost every comment in his own thread, which turns 9.5 pages of dumbassery into 19 pages of dumbassery.

Teams that prefer to protect OOC rivalries over in conference rivalries.

You were responding to Choctaw and you were the one who said lone. I was informing you that it is neither claimed by the school nor the lone title pre-2003. Just trying to help you out while you tell all these boys about the halcyon days of old money and the SEC. Back when Ole Miss was a thing. That still gets me.

Speaking of pussies, here are some of the ADs opposed to a 9th game:

quote:

Quite simply, the only reason not to go to a nine-game slate is pure cowardice.

quote:

Solomon goes onto run through the various views of many anti-nine-game ADs as well.

Unfortunately, those ADs should not be allowed to have the final say.

Mississippi State’s Scott Stricklin admits that he’s against a nine-game plan because it might keep State out of a bowl game. In other words, “We need a steady diet of creampuffs and cupcakes if we’re going to claim to be good.” This fall, State’s nonconference slate is as follows: Jackson State, Troy, South Alabama and Middle Tennessee State. In essence, MSU is already 4-0 and need only go 2-6 in the SEC — as it did last year — to reach a bowl.

Cowardice.

Kentucky has mastered the art of the weak nonconference slate as well. Their recent rejuvenation under Rich Brooks was aided immensely by Louisville’s downturn and three lay-up nonconerence games per season.

Again, cowardice.

ETA: Alleva is a pussy too...

quote:

The possibility of a nine-game SEC schedule, which would likely result in a format with one permanent and two rotating opponents, was also discussed, but for many may be a nonstarter.

“I’m not in favor of that,” Alleva said, “mainly because every other year I would lose a home game. That’s a lot of revenue. Another reason is I think we would beat each other up too much.

You're not trying to teach anyone a lesson.

You're a troll.

You try to take the high road, as if you're Jesus Christ teaching all of us a parable, once enough people give you shite about trolling.

If we go to 9 games, teams like Florida or UGA will probably never schedule another OOC game outside of their current ones. It wouldn't be worth the risk.

Still not gonna give you the nod on the Old Money designation. 1 championship in somewhere around a century doesnt cut the mustard.

For those that don't want to look, cumulative winning percentage from 1960-1979 notable entries:
1 Alabama 0.85000
17 Louisiana State 0.69643
