Not necessarily wanting to give up the Florida game doesn't make the Bama position any more defensible. They are 2 different things.

it is PAINFULLY obvious who is old money and who is new money in this league.

Okay, here's a good question...when does new money become old money. I've seen Miami listed as an old great program but they came into success same time as UF. Is it 3o years? 50 years? Serious question.

in-b4-LSU=10 years: year 0 to 1990: 13th highest win%, 90's nadir, currently 12th highest win%

You of all people posting something like this is pretty fricking hilarious

love the thread, exposes the truth that

calling lsu scared because they want a 6 and 2 schedule

is just as dumb as

calling Alabama scared because they want a 6-1-1 schedule

What the really messed up thing about all of this is, if UT got moved into the West, Bama would sell out the Deep South's oldest rivalry in a heartbeat. The Gumps, Mountain Gumps, Barners, and Puppies are aligned right now, but let's not pretend that isn't in self-interest. The second Bama is offered a solution that preserves the third saturday game, they will gladly put all of the nails in the coffin of the Deep South's oldest rivalry and carry that casket to the grave yard.

I would call Miami ... dirty money.

I think a quarter century of continued success is enough to move you into old money. It's a generation passed and young adults will have only known that at that point, imo.

My point exactly. You don't care about fairness so bragging about the fact that UT is getting the stuffing beaten out of them because they have Dooley now isn't a legitimate talking point. You want to play this game. You want these rules. As I said before, OF COURSE you don't have a problem with it. It is your system for better or worse.

I'm not sure what your definition of making the same point is but I dont think its the same as anyone else on this planet.

The corndogs however bitch endlessly about referees, scheduling fairness, and how it was bullshite that we were even in the game to begin with.

NOTHING compared with the Alabama bitchfest commencing 11/5/2011.

...or even the ref bitch fest from 2004.

That was EPIC!

I can go with that. Had a discussion with UF fan on ESPN who swore Gators owned LSU 30 - 5 (hyperbole). Didn't take long to realize his history began with Spurrier.

So him saying that everyone elses argument is just as dumb as yours, means he gets your argument?

YES

That was the whole point of the thread: to expose how stupid the "scared" argument is. I was not trying to really make the argument in the OP. I was mirroring you people's stupidity.

Whoever you saw call Miami old money, was an idiot.

I would say the 70's are a good point reference. When the game was still at a point when it actually meant something to make a bowl game. If a team was a powerhouse and was winning championships, or at least contending for them, in the mid to early 70's and before, then they are old money in my book.

The 80's brought about a LOT of changes in college football, most notably the addition of about 8 million bowl games. Which led into the complete resurfacing that it got in the 90's.

If your success didnt start until the 80's or later, you are definitely new money.

And no, your lone championship in 1908 isnt enough to get you there. Teams like Alabama, Georgia, and Tennessee were the face of southern football in the 60's and 70's. If someone mentioned college football during that time period, those were the teams you thought about in this area. That is old money.

So the whole point of this thread(Bama Scared of UF) is stupid, therfore Stupid thread is stupid, therefore creator of stupid thread is stupid.

Did I do that right, it's been a long time since logic classes in school back in the day

It isn't LSU's lone championship, and, if I'm not mistaken, LSU doesn't officially claim it. It is funny you are trying to give a history lesson to others

Let's not sit around and pretend that you had some higher purpose and ulterior motive.

Every now and then you get bored and decide to take a dump on the SECr with a thinly veiled flame.

It's as simple as that.
