SEC fans see 11/12 PM kicks as being for shitty games due to our long standing experience with the immortal Jefferson Pilot Game of the Week. It's how we were conditioned.

Because this is basically the equivalent of a Jefferson Pilot game for Bama. Can't wait to see Dave, Dave, and Dave. It's been a while.

*edit* Damn it, George. I wanted to do the Jefferson Pilot thing first.

Because most of the West Coast will be still asleep or hungover and they won't have to watch 3+ hours of complete devastation.

Fox always fills the noon time slot with a marquee matchup. It’s one of the main reasons OU and Texas told the big 12 to frick off.

but does the SEC get to dictate gametimes to ESPN as part of the deal

the #1 game on ESPN is during primetime. ESPN tells you when to play unless your game is on ESPN+

It's been pointed out several times. Most here evidently lack reading comprehension because it's continually asked.

pretty common for teams that have averaged a 7-6 record over the past decade to draw a noon kick unfortunately.

Because they wanted that premier matchup between Georgia and Samford in that prime 4PM slot, obviously.
