Why hasn't Brent Venables gotten a HC job yet?

Is it because he looks and acts like he is on meth?

His defense owned us like our offense was on meth.

Ed Zackery......give the guy credit. They kicked our azz.

I have no clue why NO Big Names have offered him a gig. Hell the coach from Troy has a HC gig.

Exactly, he has had some very good defenses at Clemson. Seems like he would get more interest as a HC candidate. Never hear his named mentioned for HC jobs.

Hasn't he turned down multiple offers? Maybe he just likes being a DC and doesn't want to have to deal with being in charge of an entire program?

Anybody who thinks he hasn't been offered jobs is sniffing glue.

He's getting paid $2MIL per year to call that defense. That means he can be extremely selective. Most likely, he's waiting on Dabo to go to Bama so he can take over at Clemson.

He has probably been offered some HC jobs but I don't remember hearing his name mentioned ever for any openings at top or even mid tier schools.

He doesn’t want to be a HC. Maybe it will come in the future but he is happy at Clemson, something a lot of other coordinators can’t say. He is also highly paid and his son is now on the Clemson football team.

I really don’t see him going anywhere for a while

Maybe he is waiting on Saban to retire so he can take over at Bama.

He turned down his Alma Mater in Kansas State. He is getting paid 2 million a year and he's said he enjoys winning too much to leave. I don't think there is an easier place to win than Clemson right now. The conference is a joke outside of Clemson.

I have heard on more than one occasion that he is happy where he is and what he is doing.

I thought K State would snatch him up but they must not have wanted to put up the big money for him. The head coach they have now is making about the same money Venables is making at Clemson. Venables is a K-State alum and started coaching with Bill Snyder.
