All I ever see refenced is Harris' physical abilities. He looked like Mocha Nightmare (Kyle Frazier) 2.0 in JHS stadium last year. No one ever seems to mention his growth in the ability to read D and anticipate throws, things needed in that offense. Why it that?

Because he hasn't played a game in 2015 yet?

From all accounts, I hear he is calling collegiate plays in the huddle so far.

Because we won't truly know until we start playing?

All signs point to that, but a coach isn't going to say "Yeah hes pretty much just as shitty as last year" in a press conference.

B/c we're not used to that. Haven't really seen that in a QB since Flynn

While optimistic, most tiger fans realize he still sucks until proves otherwise

It's been said that he knows the playbook now and never leaves the film room. That's all we've been told though

This is excellent news for his Heisman Campaign. The only player who could win that award using a high school playbook is Cam.

We recognized he was a smart kid when he chose LSU over every other SEC team. And yes, every single one of you offered the kid

Wow! How can anyone manage to coherently use English to make himself so easily understood while saying something so dumb? You're even sober, aren't you? That's just impressively dumb.

You probably haven't paid much attention, but that has been 75% of the talk surrounding Harris during this camp. That is, he has finally done the things asked from him in terms of committing himself completely to Quarterbacking, learning the playbook, doing film study, and taking command of the offense. Tangible evidence is the fact that he gained 20 plus pounds in the offseason, which hints at greater commitment. He had 4 total touchdowns in the last scrimmage, albeit against the 2nd team defense. However, there hasn't been much talk on this board as it is futile and no one would ever believe it since LSU could never possibly have quarterback development.

This all being said, I'll believe everything when I see it. The season is the only thing that will tell if he truly made a step. Objectively, no one could possibly doubt his physical capabilities. We're talking about a top 5 QB coming out with wheels and a cannon, who played at a small time school not playing football for long. Do I think he becomes a heisman contender? No way. Do I think he could be a 200 ypg passer with 20-25ish total touchdowns by the end of the year? Absolutely. We'll see.

To follow up on what's been said, he wouldn't be the presumed starter if he hadn't grown mentally up to this point (obviously). By all accounts he's working really hard and taken a strong leadership role. That's about all we have to run on I guess

Let me guess. You also can't for the life of you understand why nobody at A&M or LSU has mentioned that the former LSU defensive coordinator is now holding the same position at A&M. Right?
