Why does the CWS follow the March madness model?

What I mean by that, is at the beginning they give them their opponents and just let them run. Because of this, we have LSU and Arkansas, two of most likely the best watching and best teams, play in the first round.
Why don't they reseed the CWS after supers based on who did best in supers and regionals, and have #1 team play #8 team, 2-7, etc
It just doesn't make sense. It also wouldn't be hard. Just make a second "Seeding Show". It will give you more viewers, which is all ESPN cares about

1. Name a major American college or pro sport that reseeds when the post season championship tournament/playoffs start?

2. There is no objective way to measure who did the best in supers and regionals. It would be totally subjective.

It is what it is.

Completely agree which is why I don’t think it should happen. Set the bracket, let it play out.

Valid. I guess I just never thought of it as reseeding. Bad post on my part lol.

I did the same thing when arguing with my friend. I just don't pay attention to the NFL and didn't know they did this.

With the NCAA Baseball top 16 seeds getting home field advantage in the regionals, and the top 8 getting home field advantage in the Supers, I think they underdogs already are at enough of a disadvantage without re-seeding.

The only change I could see, that might be good, is flipping the brackets like in softball. If that were the case, there would be a chance for two teams (say Hogs and Tigers this time) to play not only in first game but potentially meet again in the finals. Assuming my understanding of how softball series works is correct.

It really doesn’t matter.

To be the best, you have to beat the best. Whether it’s in round one or the Finals, you have to beat the teams playing their best ball right now.

Who’s to say that Coastal Carolina isn’t playing the best baseball right now. No one can answer that question definitively.

Just let it play out and the last man standing is Champion. Pretty simple.

I agree this would be a good idea. Free content and extra viewership. But with double elimination, it probably doesn't matter too much.

This is dumb lol. No other league reseeds during the playoffs? Why would this matter anyway? These are the best 8 so far. If want to win the title, win against the best. Who cares who has to play who in what round.

The team that wins it will be deserving.

The bracket was evened out to start. Other SEC teams didn't hold up their end of the bargain being host seeds.

Let the bracket play out.

This.

The lower seeds that made it out already fought uphill. Punish them more?
