Why does Saban keep running Henry up to the last minute?

And then say in his press conference he wants to get Scarborough and Harris more PT??
I'd hate for a fumble sure, but Henry already fumbled once Saturday. But I'd hate it worse for an injury.
He does this every game, by the way , and I know that's how NFL teams do it, too. But still...

He's jealous of Fournette's heisman run. Dude had 38 carries on Saturday.

Saban does this often. While at LSU, all American center Ben Wilkerson was hurt on the last play of the game in a game at hand.

Sandbagging for MSU and giving Henry a victory lap / Heisman moment.

9 min to go when we started that last drive. Seems like an odd time to bring in a backup. If we had one more change of possession with no points I'll bet they would have subbed in the puppies.

Dude almost doubled his yardage on the last drive. I guess it was more like a third of his total. He had like 135 before that drive.

Because he wanted to win the game? Henry and Drake were unstoppable and Henry has proven to be the more durable player.

Henry carried Bama on a 9+ minute drive to ice the game. I wouldn't complain at all had Miles done the same.

Not at 9 minutes backed in your own end zone.
But probably around the 2 minute mark he ran Henry a couple of more times, then took the victory snap. It's those 2 - 3 plays at the end, I'm concerned about.

Drake got hurt on a KR earlier and Bama needed to put up a long drive. If Harris or Bo were in there the drive wouldn't have lasted as long.

We probably should have done something about that.

Ok I got you. To be honest, Saban was probably fully aware of Henry's heisman chances and wanted to give him as many yards as possible.

That's the only reason I can come up with. Same reason Fournette was in so late against Syracuse.

It's going to be a fun last 3 weeks man. These two monsters are both going to be out for blood. Henry to ensure that Bama stays atop the West and Fournette to try and get LSU back into in, incase Bama stumbles.

The two of them battling it out for the heisman is just a little bit of added motivation and intrigue for the fanbases.

Because we wanted to make their arse quit? We didn't want to give them the ball back. Not sure why anyone would have a problem with that. The game clinching soul sucking final drive against an elite team like LSU is not the time I start whining for a freshman to get a few carries.

Could have been a statement on many levels. Personally, I'm glad he did it.

And even with that anomaly only averages 24/game, against a quality schedule.

I bet if Fournette had 38 carries he would have gotten at least 62 yards.
