Why does it have to be a package deal?

Does Sankey have the scrote to pull OU and leave UT at the table? Maybe court WVU...or literally any other school?
That feels like the most beneficial and funniest scenario possible.

Would be hilarious. But no way they don't bring in Texas if they have the chance.

Those two have carried their conference for decades. Pick any two major rivals in the SEC. That would be like breaking them up. One isn't leaving without the other.
ETA I have no problem bringing them in. I would like to see us go after a Va. Tech/UVA too.

You are missing the point. The history between texas and OU rivals the history of pretty much every long term SEC rivalry. They will both leave together or stay together. They are joined at the college football hip.

Imagine AuNecks not playing UGAy.

It might be wise to look at two other teams entirely.
Texas and OU stand maybe to lose some national standing if they are in an actually competetive conference for them.
It might be better to add Maryland and a Virginia team, their ratings have less of a chance of falling off.
Of course that needs close analysis I can't provide myself.
Just floating it, I'd be fine w/ texas and ou

Texas brings nothing to the table, Alabama & LSU recruit heavily in Texas, we already have the Texas tv market, we don't need them.

You are missing the point.
Admittedly, I'm exaggerating the state of UT football so that's premature. But, you'd think they'd at least pause if the SEC offered them and not UT.

I hope it isn't - money be damned, UT just isn't worth the hassle. And frankly, A&M has been an outstanding fit - I think they deserve the benefit of the doubt on this. They jumped through hoops to get away from the horns.
Take OU and somebody else. If Texas gets in, they'll be trying to break up the equal revenue sharing in five years. They just aren't worth the hassle. They need to go independent.

It honestly will be unfortunate if OU finds itself on the outside looking in, simply because they’re part of a “No-vote for UTex “ package deal. If they were negotiating on their own, I think they’d stand an excellent chance.

ESPN needs them and OU parked somewhere they control so the SEC is getting bribed to take that call.
All there is to it. If the SEC says no it’s the ACC next.

Yea lets drop texas for WVU, a shitty school at a disgusting backwoods state that's soon to be completely irrelevant as their coal mines shut down.
Are you tarded?

That's probably a bit too much sanctimony from an Arky fan, eh?
I also added "any other school".

OU and Texas go together. If it’s not to the SEC it’s going to be the B1G and the sec would have to be stupid to let that happen.

Texas is the 2nd most populated state in the nation.
OU, for all intents and purposes, might as well be a DFW school. Nearly half their alumni base is either from there, or moves there after school.

OU wants to be where Texas is
SEC wants Texas for money reasons. OU wants to be where Texas is for money reasons. That’s the situation.
