That's why I usually just spell out Texas or use TX, but every now and then I'll use the UTA.

California & North Carolina has all kinds of different hyphenated teams...

UNC-W
UNC-CH
UNC-C
UC-Davis
UC-Irvine
UC-Berkeley
...

The official abbreviation for Georgia is GA. That said, it's a pathetic ripoff from UVA.
