Dan Enos is the new OC - he's going to run the ball, and Saban LOVES to do so. Honestly think Enos is the best fit at Alabama in years.

4.17 YPA against 3 teams that give up 3.63 YPA (+0.54 YPA)
Oklahoma gives up 4.03 YPA.
So, that gives us a rough estimate of 4.57 YPA vs Oklahoma.
4.03 against big 12 teams lmao... apples and oranges.

If OU gives up 4+YPA against B12 teams, Alabama will not have to punt once.

Saban loves to outscore people and put the onus on them to keep up. That's what Saban loves, and his team is designed for this very specific situation. You can't change the identity of an offense overnight, or over a month. Saban will run his normal offense because this is what they're designed for.

With OU's absolutely pathetic secondary that won't matter. And if you think Alabama cannot run out of a spread formation, might want to read up.

Does OU even recruit defensive players? Does the big 12 in general?

I never said Bama can't run out of spread or any other formation. Stop talking aggot.

No never. We're all intentionally trying to play horrible defense across the entire conference all the time.

Every single RB and QB on Alabama's squad averages more in YPC than OU gives up against no-defense B12 squads. Class is over - back to the trailer

Clearly a flawed strategy. How can you win doing that?

All your trying is paying off big time.
Congrats

In their last 3 games against P5 Bama has only put up 417 yards on 100 carries. The schedule before that was a cake walk. And OU is objectively better than any team Bama has faced yet.
The Bama run game ain't what it used to be.
Because OU allowed an average of 200 yards-per-game (5.48 YPC) to its last three P5 opponents who's average offensive rush ranking is 83.
Conversely, Alabama has rushed for an average of 141 yards-per-game (4.43 YPC) against its last three P5 opponents who's average rush defense ranking is 26.
Additionally, (if we get to be picky) I'm not sure where your getting your stats, but Alabama has rushed for a total of 422 yards - not 417 - against its last three P5 opponents.
I only included rushing stats because you only asked about rushing stats, but you have to understand (surely) that rushing and passing stats are somewhat related. Hint: the reason Alabama's rushing stats aren't "stellar" are because Alabama is ranked 7th in the nation in passing offense...who needs to run a ton when you can average 325 yards-per-game with a yards-per-attempt of 11.3???

Dude.....we're all aware of the talent Bama has amassed on it's roster. But this team is who you are and will be who you are going forward. It's built to put the onus on the OTHER teams to "keep up", not grinding them down with a power rushing attack or play "ball control". It's a complete script flip from the previous Bama model of offense.
Alabama has played a passing offense because it can. Make no mistake, this offense is very balanced, and if the pass was there, they threw (and with 5 outstanding WR they threw it a lot) However make no mistake that Alabama can be a power running team. With multiple running backs that are big, strong and like to hit, Alabama takes out teams.
Against one of the best defenses in the country (UGA), Alabama averaged 4.7 yards running the ball......
The biggest problem is that OU will have to prepare for two completely different QB
Oklahoma needs to hope Alabama turns the ball over several times (like the last time they played) to have a chance.

Against mighty SEC defense no less. Class is indeed over.

Nice straw man.
Nobody said it wasn't.

Yes, basically every single SEC team has a better defense than OU does. Every one of them

What percent chance do you give your mighty soonerss to win?

Texas had a whopping 88 yards in their last meeting.
Good for OU...they held Texas to 2.8 ypc
Bad for OU...they only averaged 3.2 ypc
So...OU's high powered offense did average 14" more per carry than Texas in their last meeting (which you are bragging about shutting down)...so, congrats on that.

He made some positive changes, sure. We ran an entirely different defense against Texas. That's why Texas only ran for 88 yards on us the second go around.
And gave up almost 300 yards passing.

quote:
In their last 5 games, Ruffin faced three top 20 offenses. Mike faced zero before he was fired.
And did pretty much the same as Stoops.

You really saw improvement? He still gave up 400+ yards against Texas. It was just a different kind of yards.
