Why do Vols tolerate Heupel?

He’s Brian Kelly. He’s James Franklin.
He’s the inverse of a goat coach that’s earned their 10+ shite seasons to run the program into the ground. He’s the kind of coach to keep the Vols peaking over the fence but never able to climb over it.
Just because you’ve lived on dirt pies and Indian street food since Phil Fulmer and John Chavis left town doesn’t mean you have to like it. Vanderbilt just had dollar store Johnny football as their QB and their coach is giga chad Clark Lea (who is a Vandy grad btw).
When are you gonna look in the mirror and ask how you were gaslit into allowing a fat Oklahoma QB to be your coach for 5 seasons?

He was the first coach to defeat Alabama in a decade and a half. That's why.

If he gets a legit QB no one is going to want to deal with the Vols.
He just hasnt had one since Hendon Hooker.

Best Tennessee coach in 20 years. Who else would they get?

Not sure what a “q” job is but unless you’ve been under a rock, Beamer is still the coach at USC. However, that has absolutely nothing to do with the OP’s post.
And, because you missed my point, LSU and Tenn have roughly the same record over the past 5 years (see posts above). LSU deemed it time to move on from Kelly for various reasons.
The question the OP states is whether or not it’s time for Tenn to move on from Heupel.
I don’t think so.

He’s better than Kalen DeBoer
Your coach’s name is Kalen and he sucks

It was meant to say beamer. Im drinking. I apologize. Hiring and firing coaches off of the whip of our hip has not worked out for us so we're trying a different approach..

No problem.
Drive safely.
And I agree. . .firing a coach as good as Heupel at this juncture is not a smart move. If he has another poor year, then I’m sure Tenn fans will become more vocal. As a USC fan, I’d have taken him in a heartbeat five years ago.

To address the original question. I dont think he is in the firing realm , just yet. We as Tennessee fans want him to win as much as we could. We hope. However we also realize that the bottom is a lot deeper than we ever realized

It's not so much about the QB. Heupel runs the Art Briles offense. Everything is pre-determined before the ball is snapped. There are no "reads" for the QB to make after the ball is snapped, and if it's a pass they're only using one side of the field. It's one of the reasons his QBs usually suck after they make it to the league. If you can stop the run without putting extra defenders in the box you shut it down entirely. They need better recruiting across the board, especially on the lines.

Vanderbilt just had dollar store Johnny football as their QB

I like your observations. This is probably for another thread but since USC just hired K. Briles as OC, including his offensive line coach (for many years), we are very interested to see how the offense, particularly the OL and QB (Sellers) will respond. It HAS to be an upgrade over Shula but just how much is what everyone at USC is waiting to see.

I can give you a quick rundown of how it's gonna work out. if the quarterback's good, it's gonna be great. If not, then you're gonna be 3 and out in 37 seconds..

No it’s not lol. His scheme does simplify decision making based on pre-snap reads, but there are still reads and decisions made by the QB post-snap. You have no idea what you’re talking about

The only QB he’s had with legitimate NFL talent was Nico who was an inconsistent freshman. I could definitely see the argument that his scheme may not prepare QBs for the NFL, but we’re talking about a small sample size of not great talent

You’re describing almost all football offenses
