Why do the bottom tier SEC schools have the easiest cross-divisonal games?

It's bullshite that teams like Missouri get to join the SEC East and get to play the worst team in the West every year.
How bad does Barry Odom suck that he couldn't win the division after they give him the easiest schedule every year?
1. Ole Miss vs. Vanderbilt
2. Arkansas vs. Missouri
3. Kentucky vs. Mississippi State
4. South Carolina vs. Texas A&M

There should be no permanent cross division opponents...it needs to be done away with...

So that they will never vote to eliminate the Cross Division Permanent and therefore Bama v Tenn and Auburn v UGA will stay.
It is a payoff for their votes

Agreed. Needs to rotate annually IMO

Cut permanent opponents and let Alabama schedule Tennessee and Auburn schedule Georgia in non conference games the years they don’t play if they want to so badly.

It was set up that way. The SEC never hid that they wanted a competitive balance in those cross division games.

what would be the alternative? If bama got vandy from the east every year everyone would complain they got a break.
The big 6 are all matched wiht each other then the rest are matched with each other. I mean this is pretty straightforward stuff.

It was TAMU for the first few years and they were 11-2, 9-4, and 8-5 those three years. Hasn't always been cupcake city, that was just the last 4 years

It was done to create parity

Is this one of those posts where LSU fans cry about having to Florida every year?
I think everyone agrees that there shouldn't be permanent cross division games except for fans of 4 schools.

We tried to switch with Lsu to get Florida, but they didn't want UofSC.

It also knocks teams from playing for a National Championship.

Yeah..that’s why Odom is fired.
Also if we would have joined back when Arkansas was good this wouldn’t be a thing. It’s not our fault 1/3 of the west is handicapped any given year.

Shockingly when you are playing a team mired in one of their worst runs in football history it seems like an easy match up.
I know. This is rather advanced for you.
Alabama has owned Tenn., as an example, over the last decade but before the Vols took a sharp nose dive they were one of the top programs in the country. South Carolina had back to back 11 win seasons not that long ago. Arkansas finished ranked in the top 5. Programs that you are declaring as easy might very well be terrors in a few years.
Now I will admit that streaks happen, especially when one team is down. Navy won 14 straight against Army recently when Army was at rock bottom. Now the Cadets have bounced back and won the last three.
Mind you, I'm in favor of doing away with permanent rivals because it would be fun to see every school's campus more then once a decade. We will play Tulsa more over the next decade than we will any school from the East not named Missouri.
But gassing on about how one series is unfair is dumber than a bag of hammers because you don't know what the football landscape is going to look like in a couple of years.

Has probably the most competitive overall record in the cross-division series. It actually works well for both schools in the sense that it ebbs and flows with the ups and downs of the respective programs.

Why are you afraid of Florida?

No. Bama would play Vandy once every 7 seasons.

if you are as good as you think you are, who your cross division opponent is shouldnt matter. you think your top program is going to recruit at a high level and play for championships by playing the scrubs? news flash you wont and you wont

No one’s afraid of Florida. LSU is 7-3 in the last 10 against Florida. People want permanent opponents gone so teams can visit other stadiums more often than once every 13 seasons.
