Why do teams just not play zone against Purdue?

I 'm making someone not named Zack Edey beat me. Throw it inside and I'm swarming the bastard. Go zone and shut Purdue down.

Teams just won't play zone any more. But against teams with these monsters inside, I don;t see where you have a choice.

Pretty sure they call a foul if you look at him

We did that at points. You look in Edeys direction and they call foul

Because this year they actually can hit 3s if you collapse on Edey. That wasn’t this game but they’ve done it all year

Because they are the best 3 point shooting team in the country and Edey would rebound every single miss.

I know what Bama likes to do. But UCONN has a 7'3 guy I might throw some zone at them just to see how they react.

It's not against the rules to play zone. Purdue can hit some threes but they depend on Lurch. I am going to make someone else beat me.

I never saw that happen, but I saw him almost get tackled a few times.

You can count to a pretty high number with him in the lane too..a lot of times.

Edey hurts you for 2 reasons 1 you can’t rebound or they will call a foul 2. If you look at him they will call a foul. And as a bonus, Edey can’t be whistled.

That means to beat Purdue you have to shoot hot all game long. No second shots. And you have to deal with constant foul trouble and them being in the bonus.

Edey is fortunate he plays during this era because I would have him knocked on his arse a few times they way he pushes guys around.

He does not shoot free throws all that well.....Coach Anti is playing zone vs Purdue., They may have a couple of shooters but I don't believe they will hurt me as much as Neckbolts.

I am collapsing on him when they throw it inside and if they whistle me, they whistle me. I want him frustrated as hell.

Because of BS foul calls. You can't even get in a half a foot of him without getting called for a foul. Sick of the corruption with the refs in all sports. As long as there are human refs there will never be such a thing as a fair game especially when big money is involved. Edey has the national media narrative like Reggie Bush did at USC way back. They want the nation's most hyped player against a potential GOAT Uconn team for RATINGS.

It's not rocket science.

They shoot the 3 ball better than anyone in the country.

My strategy against Purdue would be to accept that Edey is going to get his, and play as fast as possible to try and get him winded.

We tried that and it did work but we got into foul trouble so quickly that we finished the game with our 3rd big.

They can and have been beat. It can be done. No one has put heat on that arse and I'd like to see how they respond in a tight game.

They got everyone telling them how great they are and yeah, maybe they are, but that's a classic setup for getting your bubble burst.

No one in this tournament may be good enough to bust that sucker, but on a given day....

I complained about that when we played them, it seemed he stayed in the lane too long on the offensive end. That’s something you don’t see called much anymore.

NC State has their own big guy. It should be fascinating to watch.

If you do they will shoot you out of the gym.

Best you can do is a box in 1 chase that shooter and hope he misses. Deny the big man the ball and make him catch it at the FT line otherwise he will eat.
