It is a myth that Auburn gets less state funding than UA. Precisely because AU is the land grant school of the state, it gets far more funding than UA does. Having an Ag and Vet school gives AU a huge advantage in funding. What is truly remarkable is that UA has thrived despite NOT having the state med, vet and ag schools.

This, coupled with some of the dirty plays and classless coach of the past, is what does it for me. They rise up every now and then and have a pretty good season. Auburn has only managed back-to-back 10+ win seasons in their history('88-'89), and one of those needed a bowl win to get to 10. They seesaw back and forth from being a joke to the occasional world beater, yet act like they're right there with Bama because they have a really respectable head-to-head record. It's just god damn annoying.

Bama wasn't shite during that win streak. I'm talking about the people that hadn't broken out their Auburn gear since the last time they were in the national championship hunt.

People not from Alabama might believe this pap but the rest of us know that all of UA’s lawyer alumni do plenty of work in Montgomery to help Mama Tide.

Oh, no. they are not a state school, so they are at a huge disadvantage.
How school funding affects their football program is beyond me.
