Why do people really think that Tennessee has a legit shot at the playoff?

They won't play in the conference championship game. I don't see them making it in over a one loss Michigan or Ohio State. Especially after LSU beats Georgia they have no shot of getting in.

IF LSU beat Georgia, and that’s a huge if, and the SEC were getting two teams in, you can’t argue the committee wouldn’t have a hard time deciding between LSU or Tennessee.

Yeah, no team has ever gotten into the playoffs without playing a conference championship game.

Why?

LSU would have beaten a team that beat Tennessee and they would be the conference champions. Don't see much of the debate here

Tennessee is scoreboard watching.
Of course they can get it.
But USC, TCU, Clemson, and maybe even the loser of OSU/Michigan can keep them out.
Nothing is settled.

Ummm Tenn beat LSU 40-13 in Tiger Stadium. There would be a debate.

LSU is a completely different team right now than they were then.
We would have both beaten the gumps and then we would have beaten Georgia and we would be conference champions. We would also have a significant win over Ole Piss. I'm showing no bias here and taking the tigers 100/100 times

Because Tennessee beat LSU at LSU and will have one less loss
It really isn't even a question that Tennessee gets in over LSU.
It's blatantly obvious

Is this based off of that huge 3 point win over Arkansas?

You are 4 points from being a 4 loss team. Tennessee pushed your shite in on your home field.
This is what UGA will do to LSU...

#3 strength of schedule.
2-1 against top 8 teams.
40-13 win over LSU on the road
Only lose to #1 UGA on the road
Why should UT be panelized for playing hardest schedule of anyone in the top10?

No way for Clemson.
TCU has to win out. (Which is very possible with their remaining schedule)
If USC runs the table, they deserve it. They still have Notre Dame, UCLA, and Pac 12 CG.

You do understand that the loser of the OSU/Michigan game will not play in their conference championship game, either.
Tennessee has a shot. But a lot of stuff has to happen.

That is an easy comparison in that scenario.
LSU
Div Champion
Conf Champion
11 wins
Win over #1 team
Tenn
11 wins
Reg season win over LSU
Reg Season loss to UGA
Champions of Life...

It is way too early to say no to Clemson.
For Clemson to win out, they will have beaten a 1 loss North Carolina in the championship game.
(Bama has 2 losses. LSU has 2 losses. Tennessee doesn't get brownie points in the W category).
Clemson's only loss would be at Notre Dame. Tennessee's loss is on the road. Alabama's 2 losses are on the road. Losing on the road is "excusable".

I don’t and they don’t.
Oh, I finally get it! It is the old carrot thing!
Oh, my goodness yes, they are going to the playoffs! Who said they weren’t?

USC only ranked opponent beat them. Their remaining two opponents will be ranked <20 or not at all if they win them...

LSU would finish with a harder SOC by the time the SECCG is through.
