Cause Alabama won. It’s that simple. Prior to the season it was being discussed as one of the most difficult seasons in CFB because there were no FCs or bad power five teams in the schedule. You can. Enid LSu had gone back to back they’d be touting it as a back to back Ncs

Which one of these games do you think the lack of a crowd gave Alabama a win.

I never claimed there would be any different outcomes and Bama probably still dominates the season, but I don't think there is anything controversial in claiming that there are obvious differences in playing on the road before a crowd of 90,000+ and a crowd of about 20,000.

Momentum and crowd noise are real factors that visiting teams have to overcome. See LSU this past weekend after getting their asses kicked when momentum flipped and the A&M crowd came alive after the first Nuss INT. LSU was cruising until they weren't and the game totally flipped.

You cited it as a reason the season shouldn't count, while at the same time saying you don't think it had an affect on the outcomes of the games?

LSU lost because you couldn't adjust to the QB change and BK only knows how to adjust by looking like he shite himself.

Maybe it did have an effect or maybe it didn't. Bama was a very good team with very good players and maybe they would have been unaffected by crowd noise.

It's not really something that can be viewed in a vacuum.

At the end of the day, it's still a championship in the books and banners fly forever. I personally just don't view the COVID championships in same context as "normal" championships.

So the A&M crowd had no impact on the LSU offense and it was only the QB change?

Much easier to overcome an interception on the road without 100k fans screaming their heads off. Nuss got rattled by that crowd and threw 2 more INTs and Marcel Reed finished LSU off.

The 2020 season counts.

Was it a very "unequal" scenario? Yes. But it still counts. Every season has some level of inequality. Teams with more or less injuries, more or less challenging schedules or weather events that throw things off (LSU with Katrina).

Dealing with that shite is part of college football. Covid included.

You're reading a different thread then apparently. Because this one has featured LSU fans melting about how it didn't count.

You're just feigning ignorance as an excuse. Home field advantage is never 15 points or more, it's closer to 3.5.

You're just making up a fantasy as a means of coping just like all the other LSU fans.

So the crowd didn't have an affect until the 3rd quarter?

I'd feel the same if LSU won the COVID season and feel the same across all sports that year.

This comes down if you believe in momentum having an impact on a game or not.

LSU controlled entire first half and kept the A&M fans at bay. A turnover in their own territory leading to an easy TD then flipped entire game upside down, giving confidence boost to A&M team and fans.

There is no outside force called momentum.

There is a new QB who comes in and starts kicking your teams arse, or some other adjustment that happens which causes a team to start to do better which you incorrectly attribute to such a force at best.

Everyone had to deal with the same extra hardships.

the problem is some teams had to deal with the contact tracing bullshite WAY more than others. Teams had to cancel games due to not having enough "healthy" players to field a team. IIRC, State played like a month with a team of ~45 available players. In some ways, many games became a battle of who had fewer players out due to COVID restrictions. It was ridiculous. Then you add in the fact that a B1G team made the playoffs having played just 5 games.

bama fans are the only fans that think there was ever a team remotely comparable to LSU 2019 and it kills then that LSU owns the title to THE GREATEST TEAM EVER

Nobody in states with counties thinks that 2019 LSU was the greatest ever.

95 Nebraska is the GOAT, the closest anyone came to them was 14 points in a trap game. 2020 Alabama came close, but the 6 point win over Florida in the SECCG took us out of the running.

2019 LSU had wins of 3, 5 and 7. 2 sides of the ball no matter how much LSU fans want to pretend otherwise.

You can still celebrate and enjoy your team's championship and accept the situation surrounding it as not being the same as others.

I would have definitely felt good about LSU winning in 2020, but I wouldn't have considered it the same as 2019, 2007, and 2003.

It was a real season, just a fluky season that exposed Coach O. Not denying the results but alot of teams were not good that year.

Of course Bama was elite. Saban would thrive when he could stack the deck in his favor.

Bama was legit in 2020 and beat everyone in front of them, but getting to play on the road in empty college stadiums is not the same as there was no longer any true homefield advantages.

Doesn't that work both ways? Teams didn't have to play in front of a rowdy crowd in Tuscaloosa either.

In some ways, 2020 was more legit because it came down to two teams competing without the distractions. It was about which team was more fundamentally sound and could execute better when you could hear a pin drop.
