You will get your turn at the beginning of next season. We are too busy with preparations of a BCS National Championship Game.
The only thing you're busy doing is eating cheese puffs in your La-Z-Boy.

It's not so much that they need acceptance as it is that they can just not understand why no one is happy for them, even though they have never been happy for anyone else. When Auburn goes to the national championship game, they want to act like they are the only ones that have been there, and that they are the greatest team in the history of football.
I think that Gus is a very good coach, and seemed like a nice guy that just did his job and didn't waste time talking trash about other teams. That is until the Iron Bowl. When he stormed out on the field when one of our players went down hurt, and accused us of trying to slow down the game, that changed my mind for 3 reasons.
First of all you never question whether a player is hurt and you certainly don't laugh about it.
Secondly, the game wasn't going fast at that time, and there really was no need to slow it down.
Thirdly, what a hypocrite. Does anyone remember the Auburn/Arkansas game where the Auburn player was just standing there and looked over at the bench and suddenly fell down. Everyone knew it was a fake and the announcers went wild, but the Arkansas coach didn't run on the field making a fool out of himself accusing the player or faking an injury.

Keep in mind that Auburn will always be overshadowed by Bama. Sucks to be second fiddle in your own state but maybe that has something to do with it. What I can't understand is why is everyone so high on Auburn and Malzahn now? They deserve credit for playing tough down the stretch but they didn't dominate their schedule by any stretch and they needed a miracle or 2 to get where they are. Malzahn may very well end up being a good HC but he has no track record at this level yet to judge him by. Let the man string together a few seasons with continued success before anointing him the next big thing.
This.

If AU had "little brother syndrome", they would retroactively claim championships to bolster their self-worth.

My yard got TPed by Aub friends after the 2010 BCS champ game. It would never have occurred to me to do that to them after 09, 11 or 12.
What'd you do...drag your nuts on their faces to get even?

The projecting in this post is palpable.
It was just a game. Time to get over it.

This is why the long layoff between conference championships and bowl games is bad.
We have nothing to do but bitch and moan and throw tired jabs at eachother.
No reason the BBVA compass bowl can't be today thus shortening the layoff.

Bama doesn't claim championships from 1941 to compete with Auburn. Bama claims championships from years like that to compete with teams like Notre Dame and USC, who also do it.
Try and keep up.
