Why didn’t LSU pursue 4* CB Jordon Matthews?

Four-Star CB Jordan Matthews has Committed to Tennessee!
The 6’2 180 CB from Baton Rouge, LA chose the Vols over Texas and Michigan.
A red stick 4* CB with height seems like he would have been a priority for Kelly.

Orgeron did not make him a priority and he got his feelings hurt. Kelly is recruiting him, but he seems to want the guys in Texas a little more. Will be interesting to see if LSU circles back around if it doesn't get Toviano and/or Rogers, and if Matthews would reconsider at that point.

Kid got in his fee fees for being a little further down LSU's board. He didnt even camp at LSU.
Big get for you guys tho. Biggest CB pull since Janzen Jackson IMHO. how'd that work out anyway?

So Ogre dropped the ball on him. Thanks for the answer. It seemed odd he didn’t have LSU in his top 3. So the fact LSU isn’t recruiting the state very well is more about the coaching change than a reflection of Kelly’s abilities.

I think Bravion Rogers and Javien Toviano are higher on their CB board. Plus we already have 2 committed in this class.

Why make this thread?
Tennessee fans definitely don't get shite on enough on this board because of a couple of posters. /s

If you have lived in Baton Rouge, why the hell would you choose to go to college there?

Kelly is coming in late for all these guys, just couldn't seem to recover with Matthews. But he's done a great job putting together a class despite missing out on a few in-state guys.

You have to get past this and just embrace it
You could have 99 solid posters and a couple of shitty ones but posters will only remember the shitty ones sadly.

Show us on the doll where LSU winning 9 of the last 12 vs ShoeF, including 2020 and 2021, touched you.

8 of the top 16 players in Louisiana are committed or crystal balled to LSU, i'd say that's okay. We still have 4 months to flip some of these Texas guys, and Nebraska's Omarion Miller once these two teams inevitably go 5-7

Because I was curious why LSU wasn’t pursuing him? You know, a legitimate question. Was it grades, off the field stuff, already had 2 5* CBS committed. It’s odd when a guys that lives in red stick that is a 4* doesn’t consider the hometown school.
Believe it or not, not everything is a troll post.

What we have here is a shiny hook lazily cast in the brush next to the bottle of French's mustard

I just moved from Baton Rouge after living there for two years, so I have some level of understanding of what I'm talking about

Paid sites say LSU's staff like the guys currently committed plus the non committed guys they're chasing. Wouldn't be surprised if they turn up the heat on him depending what happens with the Texas DB's though.

His reasoning behind picking Tennessee was that he wanted to win a National Championship. Sounds like he has a good head on his shoulders!!

Well most major college towns outside of Baton Rouge are far better choices.

He committed. Let’s see where he signs.

Bravion Rogers and Javien Toviano are higher priorities and better. Matthews is a raw prospect only been playing football a short time.

Fair enough. Trading now for potential later.
