Sounds to me that you've made some good choices in life so far. If this is a splurge you find worth it then go for it.

Like I said it wouldn't be my choice but I'm not in your shoes.
Proliferation of student loans. Makes college more expensive, more apt for bullshite curriculum, more peripherals for non-education concerned accoutrements, and a for-profit like mindset that can outweigh educational focus. They're trying to let everyone in order to get everyone to pay.
Excellent. Ask yourself a couple questions:

Will you be earning 10% for the lifetime of your payments on the truck?

I was thinking more like 7% on the ten year old truck. Either way, find out what the interest rate is on a new truck and then understand how much of your payments go to interest on each. There is an equilibrium of payments on new vs old and probably a potential to buy a >$46k new truck for the same monthly spend.

It should say “Forever payments” and include a * for depreciation risk. You’re essentially paying for the depreciation in your lease payments. Dealers don’t absorb depreciation as they’re hedging on a predicted rate in your payments. They're not giving you any freebies.

$46K for a 10-year-old truck is crazy, and paying a 3-5-year note on one is nuts. You didn’t mention if you’d take on a note, but since you’re buying something that old, I’m guessing that is your plan.

You might want to compare your monthly interest rate costs for a 10-year-old truck with the new one listed above. You could be spending an extra $100 a month for an older out of warranty truck.

Right there with you. Shoot 80's 911s can hit $100K these days. I regret not buying one when they were semi-affordable.

Porsche Cayman for me

Good answer. Fantastic cars as are their sibling the Boxster.

I'm fringe enough to say that I would rather a new Cayman GTS 4.0 or Boxster GTS 4.0 over a baseline 911. To me it is the less car equals better car scenario.

Sub-$45K?

It's not easy to find a 930 for less than $145K. They exist but usually have been well loved and/or need work.

Early 3 liter or G50 cars are in the $200ks. Real Slants can be double that.

The XK120s at that price need a lot of love. A good one goes for more like $100k.

This is correct. You may find a good 140 or 150 closer to that price range and they are arguably a better car than the 120.

I've heard nightmares about the general maintenance and repair costs for Aston's. It is a beautiful car though.

80's SL. A German timepiece

Just did 16'x4' myself. $500 plus about $100 in hooks. Took less than an hour to put up.

Haven't been in many many years. Don't miss putting up with the business-as-usual Popeyes bullshite.

From their Canal Street store being "out of chicken", the Mandeville store making me wait 15 minutes for chicken and giving attitude when I wanted my money back because they gave me the wrong order. To the Metairie store window clerk coming to the window with half pound of flour caked on her shirt. There really is no reason to go.
5-hour energy first thing in the morning. I've been tempted to substitute in a caffeine pill instead of the 5-hour. Mostly because it's cheaper.

Congrats to her and the warm bench seat. Move on

Try Google Gemini. Give it a good picture and a prompt.

Example prompt below, make it your own with your goals and a picture of your garage. I threw random suggestions in the one below. Ask Gemini to give you a picture too. You may be surprised how well it does. After you get a result then modify your prompt to bring it home. ChatGPT and others can do the same thing if you prefer another ai.

Act as a professional garage interior designer and organizer. I have attached a picture of my current 2-car garage. Please generate a high-quality 3D visualization of what this exact garage will look like after a professional makeover, adhering to these specific requirements:

Walls & Ceiling: Paint the walls a vibrant 'Sky Blue' and the ceiling a 'Semi-Gloss Black'. All trim and baseboards should be a crisp 'Bright White'.

Lighting: Install a hexagonal LED grid system across the ceiling. Position it so there is exactly a 2-foot border of empty black ceiling between the lights and the walls on all sides.

Cabinetry: On the back wall, visualize a professional-grade DIY cabinet system (like NewAge Products or Husky). The cabinets should be black or slate grey to contrast with the blue walls.

Extras: Include a compact beer refrigerator in the far corner.

Output: Please provide the 3D image first, then provide a structured shopping list including name brands, estimated costs, and SKUs for the cabinets and Lowe's paint colors."

I don't recall Toyota ever making a Supra Convertible. There was a Supra Targa and a Celica Convertible.

Do I need to Winterize a Garage Mini-Split?

Posted by ELLSSUU on 12/13/25 at 12:00 pm
With the freezing temps Sunday/Monday (mid 20's) do I need to somehow winterize my minisplit? System or drain lines, 1" pvc for about 15' length, which are outside if the garage?

I plan to run it in heat mode and keep the garage in high 50s-low 60s.
