As much as I dislike Texas, I have to admit they are the premier college football team in the state. It doesn't matter if they suck or not, they still have fans excited to watch their favorite team get abused like a two dollar hooker.

A&M is about on par with Baylor. SEC is probably a little disappointed in the return they are getting from adding them and Mizzou.

The real reason?

Aggy is going to get run out of the SEC sooner or later and they wanted a replacement Texas school lined up.

I'm impressed by LSU's home record in the last 20 years you do know OU is sitting right behind you with home wins you have to play half the games in Norman?

This is correct. Plans are afoot to run Aggy and Mizzou out of the SEC. When that happens, the SEC will look eastward (UNC and Duke) to replace them. Clemson and FSU will also be added.

A&M missed its Big Brother and has been using LSU as a surrogate.

Because they wanted Oklahoma and couldn't get Oklahoma without Texas if I had to guess. Seems like they were a package deal.

Weird way to say "Oklahoma is Texas' bitch", but I guess it works.

If Oklahoma left for the sec, what would Texas have?

They both came to us anyway. Also, big brand football is what will drive the money.

Forcing Texas a and m and Akra is as to play Texas is a great money maker. OU will have find rivalries that matter beyond Texas. No problem there.

Only a few more additions make pretty good sense.

Clemson
UNC
Va
Vt
FSU

These others would be okay but not needed or not easily possible.

Miami
Ncsu

Ideally they should kick Mizzou out and get Oklahoma St
No need for additional states
If you want to get bigger invite Clemson and Fla St

Load up on the biggest brands available without doing something illogical like grabbing West Coast teams when most of your league is east or central.

If OSU wanted to join the SEC it would be unanimous immediate entry

Because it's no longer about TV markets

it was about tv markets when everyone had cable so everyone including people who would never watch CFB had to buy ESPN.

Now it is about brands and putting out a good product. Texas and OU check both off.

The big 10 added 1 program of 5 that is worth while

if there was one school you toss, it’d be them.

They make better sense for the big12 or big 10 anyway.

That is, if they were invited as senior members.

Check the series history. This isn't the case at all.

They're a national brand in what is now the most important state for the conference

Is that not still Alabama?

The state of Alabama has more 5*s than Texas this year.

Alabama >> Texas (except head to head in which case Texas >>>>>>> Alabama)

Auburn >>>>>> Aggy

Are we still talking about sports? Texas is a much bigger brand than Berkeley on sports stage. Berkeley is nonexistent.

I love how quickly the SEC started hating the Aggies. Look forward to officially joining the conference so that we can collectively point and laugh at them.
