Yeah I know and I never said that, UGA is obviously a worse program so I don’t know what they think White can do there that he couldn’t do at Florida.

Umm, we don't.

If White makes the tournament every couple of years we'll keep him forever. He made it 5 of his 7 years at UF. If he's at 50% at UGA, we'll be happy.

UGA's basketball expectations aren't to win a championship. Just to make the dance a decent amount.

Under Fox/Felton/Crean, UGA made the NCAA tournament 3 times in 19 years. That's not good enough.

Harrick? 2 times in 4 years. If not for the other stuff we'd have kept him forever.

Tubby Smith? 2 times in 2 years. Would have kept him forever if he had wanted to stay.

Hugh Durham? 5 times in 17 years. We did keep him forever.

The reality is making the tournament every 3rd season is likely enough to keep your job at UGA forever.

I'll take that.

Fan of the Back to back national champions of football to be more exact.

Basketball and baseball are far below football in SEC World.

Go ahead and tell us again about how no one supposedly cares about college basketball.

Some people do care, mostly in NC and up north. Even I used to care. It’s simply a inferior sport, unworthy of attention or worry.

This is the sec, which is football country. You know that. B-ball’s are mainly side shows for fans of weaker football programs.

And yet you keep posting and posting in a thread specifically about bball.

What would you suggest UGA do metro? Considering UGA and UF just finished with the same number of wins and neither will make the tournament. Mike White had a better season year 1 than Crean had in his final year and the same record as his former team with an inferior roster this year.

Georgia is and always will be a football school. BB is a distraction to entertain us in the off season. I’m happy with the White hire. I wasn’t expecting an instant top 10 program. He has made good progress - Georgia is now competitive and has racked up a lot more wins than last season - and from what I hear recruiting is going well. The future is looking pretty good.
And btw Will is a great hire. As a DC. He is not HC material but is one of the best DCs in the country. And so far so good. Back to back natties speaks for itself

Hire a proven winner? It shouldn't be hard to at least make the tournament every year there, absolutely no excuse when you're a big state school and like 70 miles from Atlanta.

I’d agree with you that the energy out of the UGAAD towards basketball has been putrid. I’m not sure who they were going to get under the circumstances.

The dawgies I work with did when Tubby was there. Now none of them want to talk about it.

Football is King. Everyone in the SEC agrees with this. As a Georgia alum, however, I'd like the school to do well in every sport and, particularly, mens basketball and baseball.

Mike White is better than what we had - by quite a bit - so I'll take it, but I'm not satisfied with where we're at.

Having said all that, football is King and Georgia is the current King of college football for two years running. So good luck trying to make me feel bad about anything, let alone basketball.

Georgia sucks at basketball. And you'd think, with all the Africans in the greater ATL area, they'd be able to put a decent team on the court.
