The guy got Josh Harrellson to the NBA and you think he couldn't make Simmons the best player he could be on the college level in one season?
Do you think Coach K could have made Skal the best player he could be?

Nah. Skal's issues have more to do with putting on muscle than coaching.

He's likes playing in front of a half full home coliseum for a school that doesn't appreciate their basketball program?

He better start working on them answers.
He's going to be the #1 pick. He doesn't have to work on anything.

Come to LSU, at least we're not in Mississippi

Didn't you see last night's game? He came to learn man to man defense to prepare for the NBA
Posted on 2/24/16 at 8:06 am to Patton
Why not? He obviously doesn't care about playing college ball as evidenced by his nonchalant ways on the court. Yes, he amasses good stats but he plays with zero heart. I honestly can't remember another player who appeared as dgaf as he does. Johnny deserves criticism but so does Simmons, IMO.
Regarding the theory (ehh maybe until the last few games) that LSU would get into the tourney because of him being a star player people wanting to see. I didn't get that either, he may have all the talent in the world but there's more exciting players to watch on pretty much every team.

Simmons is a great player, but honestly he should have went to duke. He would have better fundamentals and would prolly be ranked #1 right now. I hate to admit this being a huge LSU fan but its the truth and any honest LSU fan should be able to admit this.

There maybe more exciting, but Simmons is the number 1 pick and that carries weight. I think that theory had more to do if LSU was a bubble team. We'd have that over every team with a close/similar resume, which won't matter now.
The Kentucky fans saying he could be AD, KAT, and Cousins are laughable. He's none of those players, and he would have gone to Duke.

Are you willing to admit Terrance Ferguson punted on his college choice? Surely he will never reach the same level of team success at Bama as he would at Kansas or UNC.
The reason he's coming to Bama is because he "wanted to be different and Avery's connections."

"Simmons would have won more games had he gone to a more talented school with a better coach"
Just genius level insight. I expect nothing less from this website.

The Godfather explains that.
Taylor Zarzour on SIRIUS was asking this very question the other morning.
The ole Maravich's dad just happened to become the LSU head coach dipsy doodle cause if I remember right I believe he was West Va. bound ( he idolized Jerry West) and the Press hiring of course changed that.

So he couldn't be those guys under Cal but we've been told all season long by some LSU fans that he could be "the next Lebron" under Johnny Jones.
He could've absolutely been a Cousins or KAT type talent under the right coach (Coach K or Cal). He has that ceiling.

If you're referring to star level then yes I agree. I meant as a player he is not a KAT or Cousins type player.

He wanted to watch L Fournette play football

Cal would have Simmons shooting 90% from the free throw line. No doubt.

well he's still projected to go #1 because of his immense potential, so it's not like he hurt his draft stock.
That said, both Cal and K would have him playing with much more intensity, roster talent aside.
