His Godfather is on the coaching staff. Otherwise LSU had no shot at Simmons.

I think his godfather is an assistant coach there, if I'm not mistaken.

Idk when he came to LSU but I do know that's why Simmons came here. Simmons stated himself that he would have committed to Duke if not for him.

Ya, I have known that for some time just wasn't sure when he joined the staff.

2 days before Ben Simmons committed. Is that what you wanted to hear?
David Patrick has been on staff for at least 3 years. He played high school ball in Baton Rouge, college at UL Lafayette and his first coaching job was at Nicholls.

And yet he could have went to UK, gotten way more exposure if that's possible, been playing for the SEC title, and a possible run in the NCAA tourney. Wonder if he second guesses his decision at this point?
