Was it key injuries like with the NC game or other factors ?

Florida 31-29
A& M 38-41
LSU 20-14
Auburn 24-22
Arkansas 42-35

Youth and inexperience at key positions. It says a lot that you had two true sophomores on the leadership council and made into permanent team captains. Typically those positions are reserved for juniors and seniors on Saban-coached teams. We lost a lot from that legendary 2020 squad and it showed.

Which is why few Alabama fans thought we had a chance against Georgia going into that SEC Championship Game. Especially after the Iron Bowl. The way we so easily dominated the Bulldogs in Atlanta gave us a little hope. But the loss of Metchie, our two starting DBs, and Williams in the next two games proved to be too much to overcome.

The fact that we even made it to the national championship game with that team is a miracle unto itself.

Yutes. Lotsa yutes and a shitbag of an offensive line. It's amazing they did as well as they did. That was the worst Alabama team since 2014.

Most of the team were freshmen and sophomores, we only had 7 drafted but will have a boatload next year. If your best players are that young there can be a lack of real leadership. We also had O line problems for several reasons that finally got better in the SEC championship game and first playoff game but showed back up in the natty game.

Because it was sort of a rebuilding year and frankly not s very good team. Good enough to kick Georgia’s in the SEC title game but not great

good enough to beat georgia once but not good enough to beat them twice (or top a&m's backup qb)

With the injured guys back plus Steen from Vandy and the new OL coach I'd say yes but that's the question.

SEC championship wasn’t much of a struggle.

Our Oline was not good and our Oline coach was worse. Marrone was there for a pay check and to not have a break in his resume.

More of a struggle than Georgia’s games vs Auburn, Arkansas & Florida. Seems like the SECCG was more of an anomaly and not the National Ship

Youth was mostly to blame. Injuries at key positions in key games had a lot to do with it. Bama also had a few with piss poor attitudes last year. I think they became a mild distraction at times on a young team. The chemistry on last years team never got close to the chemistry the 2020 team had. I think those few bad apples had a little to do with that.

So you guys won the first natty in your lifetime and we are in May 2022 and you are still worried about Bama. Stop, your insecurities are showing.
Enjoy the win!

So you're so soft that you get upset if anyone talks about a win after the fact.

Unless it was a Bama win.

Got it.
