Austin has turned into a liberal cesspool. The homeless population has skyrocketed, 6th street has turned to shite, needles everywhere, tent cities under the overpasses, people using the bathroom on the sidewalks. I have to admit, it doesn't have that exotic Eastern European/Russian architecture that you grew so accustomed too, and ...
no one would ever confuse the Colorado River & the Highland Lakes with the Brasoz River watershed.
But if you can't find a way to have an enjoyable quality of life in Austin, then I pity that you can't find anything better to do than go cruise the homeless encapments.
Using your numbers, about 1,450,000 people have moved to Austin since I graduated, are NOT homeless, and are paying $200+/ft2 to buy a house and live here. A few weekends ago, Austin hosted NASCAR, the PGA, the Texas Relays, #1 UT Baseball, along with the usual music, food, Chamber of Commerce weather and the natural amenities of the Texas Hill Country.
Perhaps you should find some different friends to visit when you come here.

Their entire identity revolves around the University of Texas. Their fight song is all about UT, and many of their weird traditions are designed around their obsession with Texas. They have an inferiority complex, and it breeds even more inferiority. That’s why A&M never wins anything meaningful.

I like how your narrative keeps changing to anything you think benefits aggy. UNC in 2020 toward the end became less dominant. Orange had no choice but to take them, giving Aggy a layup for their best season since 1998.

They will buy winning programs.
NIL is a perfect tool for teams loaded with money to buy athletes to play for their school
It has always been and always will be about the very good players getting on campus and playing.
All winning programs get the best athletes, sure there is coaching and other things, but you cannot take mediocre players and turn them into champions.

Facts. When you're fixated on little brother victories, you're not striving towards greater accomplishments. Aggie should dream bigger. Easier said than done though, because at this point they're culturally conditioned to obsess over Texas, not a Natty. And they're hardly succeeding with their modest ambition of owning Texas. Horns made that arse quit the Big 12 and won 3 of the last 4. A&M couldn't win on the field so they've taken to celebrating false victories over them, like on the recruiting trail, which last I checked awards no trophies. They treat these "wins" as ends in themselves rather than a means to a greater end that exceeds their ambitions (feats that actually come with hardware).
In 2011 when the SEC move was announced they really thought they'd escaped Austin's shadow
They're about to be set back a decade with them horns back on their neck. Texas will win the West before A&M because they aren't completely consumed by some little brother syndrome. A&M still hasn't won the West because they don't really want it. They're perfectly content with "victories" against Texas, off the field or otherwise. It almost looks like despair, forgoing bigger dreams due to their past trauma.

Entire culture there is foreign to winning. The gay military shite aside it’s a broken model of success. And they’ve not had great coaches just above average ones. I don’t see them ever getting over the hump. I don’t think they can buy their way there
