I'm not thrilled about either guy. All white runs are fly routes and Jones doesn't run routes that great

And yet Saban loves both of them.

Saban may not need elite qb to win...how about secondary? Loses Dix, Sunseri, Blue & Fulton? How about Pagan, Moseley and Stinson also on defense?

Two best OL lost plus 2 wrs in Bell & Norwood? Bama will be good but not great and will watch SECCG from their living rooms this year.

Trust me, they will easily reload. Sunseri is being replaced by the best safety in the country.

Dix

We will miss him.

Sunseri

Hard worker but not as talented as some of the other players in our secondary.

quote:

Blue

Not as bad as losing Kareem Jackson and Javier Arenas after the '09 season.

quote:

Fulton

No one will miss him. He was our worst cover corner last year.

CJ Mosley is the only true loss to our DL/LB corps. Despite losing Mosley, the staff expects our Front 7 to be better in 2014 than it was in 2013.

Debatable.

Bell wasn't even a starter and Norwood, while good, can be replaced by DeAndrew White.

Saban doesn't need a great QB to win. The contention of many people here, including some Bama fans, is that Coker might just be a pretty pitiful QB.

The quarterbacks Saban won with were more proven than any quarterback Alabama has this year

This. With Reed and Pettway being thrown in the mix the dline will be fine. Plus guys like Hand on the edge gives us a legitimate pass rush

I do find it hilarious how some people will bash their QBs saying they aren't good, and in the same breath can say they'll suck because they lost their QB.

Makes zero sense lol

You win the SEC by running the football.

I don't think Coker is going to help or hurt you running the football.

He's a red herring to your chances for a SEC title in 2014. Keep focusing on your line and tailbacks.
That will be the key to your successes and failures.

(of course... everyone will always put those successes and failures on the QB anyways).

good thing you got that out on the rant in time for saban/bama to make the adjustments...

thank god for social media

The problem isn't the talent, it's the cracks in the armor.

Saban is a myth, an illusion borne out of a very good football coach. A savior descending upon the unwashed (not metaphorically, they're dirty) to bring them back to glory.

Now, the media-made facade is crumbling a bit, and the losses are imminent. Not tons of them, mind you. Look at Saban, cussing at reporters and hiring dirtbags. He knows he's on borrowed time.

everything being said in here is debatable and will all change before, during, and after the season

ETA: Matter of fact, im willing to bet that before the end of the season Bama fans will blame their front 7 for a loss, praise coker for a win, say they have one of the best O-lines in the country, (insert current RB here) isnt that great and (insert next RB here) will be better... wait that last one already happened a couple times

Why can't people see that Saban doesn't need a great qb to win?

That is a stupid question because:
1. He is Nick Saban
2. He coaches at Alabama where every team every year is made up of players who are the GOAT.

Good troll though

So a guy that prior was in Saban's system and offense the year before is the same as a guy transferring in from a different playbook entirely? Yeah solid logic there

I think Alabama is going to have a down season, by their standards, but I don't see who on the schedule is going to beat them besides maybe LSU and Auburn.

They don't play anyone that good from the East, unless Florida hugely shocks everyone, and despite everyone talking about how good the SEC west is, realistically, who else could challenge Alabama this year?

When are y'all going to make up your minds if your QBs are good or not? I mean, seriously. Anytime there is a question at QB, y'alls past QB's turn into average game managers. But when y'all are comparing stats with other QBs in the league, y'all are the first to call them great....

I'm turning this question back on the SECr. When will you make up your mind on if AJ was just another game manager that will be easily replaced, or if Bama will suffer because AJ isn't under center?

I like how posters expect true frosh to be the savior of their team and fill in for upperclassmen who have departed. Give them another year..A few and ONLY a few make it as playmakers their first year....a dollar for every 5 start recruit who rides the pine each year will make you a rich man.
