Why can't Heupel land a QB?

Seems strange that in all of Tennessee there is no QB that has been good and wanted to be the BMOC at UTK.

Seems like they would like a portal QB but unless it’s the right guy (Leavitt or Simpson) they are fine just rolling with one of the people on their roster already

I mean they tried to tamper with Ty Simpson on a $4M deal, I doubt they're done yet.
You keep throwing around that kind of money and you're gonna get someone eventually.

Well, we have this guy

and this guy

on the roster but theyre young and there are only 2 after Merklinger left in the portal. Not sure if Heupel wants depth or a starter. Word on message boards is he doesn't think Macintyre is ready yet but who knows if that's true or just internet bull shite. Either way i don't think that Leavitt was worth that much and i would rather start a damn freshman than bring on Pribula. Not sure who else is out there. I think Heupel will almost always field a better quarterback than our last 2 coaches so at least its not rock bottom.

we are only targeting one and dones because we have two five stars on the roster already. Theres also a chance our current qb comes back and he will have the job. Its not that complicated
