When the best season in your history results in 2 losses and your highest ever final ranking is 7, that's not dominance.

This is the correct answer. Of the 7 linebackers A&M has plus the two in the 2020 class:

2 are from Texas
1 is from DC
1 is from Pennsylvania
1 is from Florida
1 is from Georgia
1 is from Tennessee
1 is from Louisiana
1 is from Illinois

LOL, Baylor hasn't beaten A&M since 2008 and went 1-3 with the greatest player in program history.

I have a theory.........

they don't play D in HS in Texas. If you check out most teams rosters, including bama, clemson, ohio st., etc. the majority of the roster is within a 5 hour drive of the campus. Players want their families to come watch them. It is hard for the Texas schools to find quality D talent in their region..........and it's not easy to recruit quality from outside of their zone.

This baylor team would smash you candy asses. And Rhule is a superior coach to your $75,000,000 "QBwhisperer"

Coaching...

Texas teams are similar to the bottom-middle and bottom tier SEC teams, which are all struggling due to inconsistent coaching.

Because they're soft as Charmin. They took the 7 on 7 fad way too seriously, and now all they play is flag football.

Look at the numbers of offensive and defensive linemen drafted from the Big12 in the past decade. It's comical when compared to the population. Texas alone should turn out a lot more big uglies

The real answer is the arrogance embedded in the state's premier programs. Everything those schools do is centered around unearned arrogance, false bravado, and selling hype over results. All hat, no cattle as they like to say....

Coaching.

Herman has too many issues.
Rhule looks to be good and he's building it at Baylor. I doubt they'll keep him too long.
Jimbo is building, but not there yet. Talent being added. The hardest schedule of all time is over.
I couldn't even tell you who Tech's coach is now. They'll never be able to recruit to west Texas.
Patterson is a good coach, but he's not a great recruiter. Has to settle for 75-125 types in Texas.
