This board is for discussion of SEC football, but it is not restricted to SEC fans. Pretty simple answer to your question.

They just want to talk college football and other sports with people that like the same. With the exception of OU there isn't another school with fans like them in the entire B12. As a conference the B12 passion for football and other college sports in the B12 really does suck arse outside of Texass and OU. It's fricking pathetic.
They have like 8 schools in the B12 with fan enthusiasm similar to Vandy. (No offense Vandy!) I don't blame Texass fans at all. Besides... without them you guys here wouldn't really know what it is like to be around them.

The passion is there for some schools, but the pedigree is non-existent.
Iowa State and Kansas State for example - they care about how they do at football and basketball, but they've never really experienced greatness in either (sans several of the Bill Snyder seasons), nor are they surprised whatsoever when they have another mediocre season. But still, fun people to be around when it's sports season at least. Just definitely not a "college sports destination" by any means.
Baseball is half-decent, half-completely pathetic. Only the schools from the states Texas and Oklahoma remotely give a shite (typically only when their school is good), and even that's not enough sometimes. Hell, Iowa State disbanded their baseball team 20 years ago
