Simple answer. AU fans went from humbled to obnoxious in 3 months.
Yeah, god forbid AU fans don't stay "humble" like Bama fans, LSU fans, UGA fans, UF fans, and (back in the day) UT fans do when they get rolling pretty good.
What convenient selective memories y'all have.

I think we are actually RELATIVELY humble considering the success we have had the past 3 decades. We have not really had a down decade during that time, we lead the SEC in undefeated seasons, second only to UF in SEC championships, second only to UF in overall record, and have a winning record H2H against everyone except LSU.
For all that success, I do not think we act overtly obnoxious overall at all.

Have a question for the Auburn fans....Which situation was a bigger shock. 1. Blocking two Alabama Punts for touchdowns in the 1972 Iron Bowl.....or Yesterday' s " Immaculate Reception" pass to beat UGA?...just curious, no flame..
As one of the few people old enough to remember (I was at both games), this was a bigger surprise, but the 1972 IB was the bigger win... Alabama was undefeated, we cost them a nattie and we also only had 1 loss that year. Seasons are very very similar in that we lost to LSU in BR, then won the rest...

I understand why we hate them... it is an in-state rivalry.
But after being in Starkville this past weekend, it does seem that your claim that "everyone" hates Auburn might have some legs.
The State fans seem to hate Auburn because of their perceived place as being the "little sister" of the farm schools in the SEC. Also, the Cam Newton saga combined with the ridiculous losses in 2009, 2010, 2011, and this year seem to have take their toll.
Georgia hates Auburn because of longevity, and, their ability to win games like this weekend (great win for AU, but anyone who doesn't realize that a 'Hail Mary' is a fluke, doesn't understand the term.).
LSU hates them because... LSU hates everyone.
As far as the rest of the SEC, I know fans that have come up to me on every campus and remarked at my "Go to Hell Auburn!" button. There seems to be a disdain for the program that has only been magnified since 2010. Whatever the reality is compared to perception, is irrelevant. Auburn is viewed as the dirtiest cheaters in the SEC. Some cite the program as being the most penalized program in the SEC, second only to SMU.
The HBO special on cheating didn't help, either.
Some view Auburn as 'lucky,' and no one likes lucky teams, unless the luck is their own.
Auburn is having a great season. A fairy tale season, wouldn't be a classification stretch by any means.
I don't think anyone cares that the games are 'entertaining' or 'good TV.' People just don't like Auburn.
It shouldn't matter to y'all, anyways. Your "family" thing is the most cult-like environment in the SEC (outside of the A&M experience... seriously--fish camp?!).
With that said, Auburn being good reinforces this year what we already knew: the Iron Bowl is still the best rivalry in college football, maybe all of sports, and it's not even close.

I don't hate of Auburn, unless we are playing them.
A strong Auburn favors Florida.

It is just fricking glorious reading posts from Bama fans, most of whom are doing so wearing their houndstooth caps and 'Got Saban?' wife-beaters, addressing AUBURN'S "cultish" behavior.
It is equally pleasurable reading posts from Bama fans, ALL of whom consider SEC and BCS Championships their "rightful place", making judgements on ANY other fanbase's "arrogance".

I have no real hatred towards the actual Alabama football team, hell I even think that McCarron is a hell of a quarterback and seems like a geniiunely good kid. I just don't like their fanbase in general but most of that comes from having to deal with them on a daily basis.
I have no real hatred for the auburn football team either. It's people that generalize an entire fan base on the actions of a relative few that I have a problem with.

Well you guys worshipped Nick Fairley dirtiest player in NCAA history. I'm sure that didn't help the perception that you guys are a win at any cost program. Then you pay 200k for a Qb who got kicked out if school for stealing and cheating. Tried to pretend chizik was a real coach when everyone knew he was a puppet for the boosters. Then y'all still go out and get another pos.thug thief in Marshall. And you wonder why, lulz!

I like being hated. I think most fanbases are jealous of our "cult-like" mentality. The reality is that most Auburn fans have a connection to the university, so it is a tight knit fanbase. Plus I don't think the play Saturday night would have happened to anyone else but Auburn and I think others know this and hate it.
And in terms of our fans on this board, we are getting revenge for the crap dished our way. I don't do much trolling because I kind of suck at it and it usually comes back to haunt me, but I support the Auburn fans that do.
