That's good because I was kidding.

Typical, and a valid reason for the hatred. You lose badly but later claim you are the better team.
did you bother to read the rest of the post? I followed that by saying that it makes no difference whether we could or not. I even said that LSU could have beaten us much worse in the first matchup.
and I don't think we are the better team, I think we have gotten better as the year has gone on.

Simple answer. AU fans went from humbled to obnoxious in 3 months. I have heard from numerous auburn fans who say "wish we could get LSU again". You lost fair and square and rather handily. Besides 2010 LSU has taken it to offenses led by Malzahn. But AU went from zero sec wins to thinking they are national title contenders. You have 1 quality win. A&M. 10-2 is a great season and it will be a nice bowl. But remember where you sat 12 months ago and stop being obnoxious.

Very simple - Auburn hasn't earned any respect.

I'd pull for Auburn like I would my own brother, except my brother wouldn't be an absolute dick and kick me when I'm down. While not representative of the entire fanbase, I know far too many who do that. So for the sake of my patience, I tend to hope Auburn doesn't do especially well, more so against Alabama.
Aside from the rivalry, back and forth BS, I'm happy that football in the state of Alabama appears to be such a dominant force. Who can say if Auburn has just been lucky, or if Bama and Auburn are reaping the benefit of a weak SEC this year. I'd hate it if either were true...but it's been a great time for the SEC in general and I'm happy that, even if it's to LSU's UGA's or whoever's benefit, the SEC is bringing the best to play and MAKE us the best.
Alas, trolls gonna troll. Dickheads gonna dickhead. Grass green, water wet, etc.
Best of luck to you guys all the same.

I think hate is a strong word. I think the "haters" get a little tired of the self righteous cultish attitude of Auburn fans. One example is how some of you in this very thread are so quick to accuse another school of cheating and your indignancy over them "getting away with it" while your very own school has a long history of rules breaking and recently getting away with shady dealings.
For all the bravado and arrogance of Alabama fans, we don't delude and try to sell others of how clean and righteous we think we are. The Auburn fanbase's ability to believe in its own self righteousness and to take itself so seriously is unique among fanbases. Other fanbases don't seem to take themselves as seriously as the Auburn fanbase does.

wait, tell the truth, did you think OP asked why everybody hated alabama?
Or is an alabama fan really coming out and saying some other fanbase is cult like and full of cheating tradition???

I don't hate Auburn the school or team, but that fanbase is dye-in-the-wool, conspiracy theorist crazy. Never is another team better than them - everyone cheats except Auburn, the messiah of collegiate athletics. Seriously, the fan base is the only reason. Whole group needs therapy

Hey, I can answer this one!
I despise the fact that Auburn is the epitome of endemic cheating in every facet and on every level of its athletic department, still acts as though they deserve to win anything at all, and are somehow persecuted should anyone actually bring up their less than above board means to an end. They are the equivalent of Lance Armstrong.
It is especially depressing and soul-crushing to watch Auburn be rewarded for their cheating ways.
However, if it makes you feel better, I hate Alabama for the same reasons. The only reason that Bama has never turned Auburn in on their shite is because Auburn has just as much shite on Bama. M.A.D. has kept the relative peace between them.
What else is there to say? Life's a piece of shite when you look at it.

I actually agree with you for the most part which explains the difference in the fanbases. You don't hear Alabama fans in general trying to explain away out NCAA issues. Auburn fans, on the other hand, have this "how dare you" attitude towards the mere suggestion that they haven't always followed the letter of the law. They will viciously attack anyone who dares suggest they aren't pure as the driven snow.

Another thing I've noticed is how often people get confrontational. Even if someone is right, they'll say so in a way that comes off like a turbo a-hole. But it's the internet and God bless anonymity I suppose. If I'm making a point, I'll do it with SOME tact. But that's all fanbases.

Alabama fans were obsessed over the Cam Newton allegations but so was the rest of the college football world. Auburn fans honestly think Alabama hasn't won a legitimate championship in ANY sport and that ALL of Alabama's football success is a result of a conspiracy between the REC, the SEC office, the NCAA, and all sorts of other shady secretive societies. It's that kind of bat s### crazy self righteous delusion that sets you guys apart.
