was overrated coming out of high school but, due to his work ethic, has found his way on a 53 man NFL roster the past 3 seasons

Brantley was supposed to be the second best quarterback in the SEC when he was backing up Tebow.

I bet it's not the last we hear from Jeremy Johnson.

He'll transfer somewhere with a real offensive system and probably blow up.

Gus can't develop a high school QB recruit but he can make a career off Juco transfer guys.

there is no comparison to Shep...did he live up to the hype LSU fans placed on him? No. He was never a bad player. Never. 3rd year in the NFL is proof.

I really think JFF/Jameis created a desire in media to tab the next big QB before he even starts a game. You saw it last year with Coker and even more this year with Johnson.

You know this business of Jeremy Johnson being "god" wasnt ever an auburn creation. The media did that. No knowledgeable Au fan was doing this. A lot of us wished that would turn out to be true, but I havent heard anybody ever pimp him up from Auburn.

I don't believe most Auburn fans want anything other than what is best for the team. We don't know that SW is best, but we could see JJ was struggling. I was not in the JJ is going to be a star category, but I can tell you I hate it for him. He has by all understanding done everything you would expect a player to do for 2 1/2 seasons and in that time the reports have always been positive about his ability and talent.

It will not shock me if SW isn't much better and we see JJ again ala Coker for bama. JJ did some positive things in the last 3 games, but he did not play with an urgency you would want in a team leader. Maybe that will change with a benching, maybe SW is going to be special. However, I feel like the offense this season is going to struggle no matter who takes the snaps. For a team with a mediocre defense trying to rebuild and retool it has the making of mediocrity, 7-6 stuff.

With 6-7, 5-8 season not far off if they don't give max effort.

He's right. The evil Media selected him to show up at Media Days on behalf of Auburn. Auburn didn't create shite.

BTW, Auburn brought the double J and two defenders to media day. All have been lackluster. Is it some sort of curse?

I think Team Vote has a good point with Coker and Johnson. JFF and Winston were not on preseason lists for anything. Everybody in the media has a desire to find the new "surprise" player. Then the bandwagon starts rolling. I've never put much stock in player evaluations until I've seen the player actually play a few games.
