I think that's hard to say now,but I feel like I'm forgetting someone obvious. Lol

We could do this for every position if yall want.

Let's exclude qb though, its gonna be talked about to death and we dont even know who's starting for multiple teams.

But yeah, the question I posted in the title is the one Im most interested in.

I guess you gotta just start with each teams number one receiver for the 2021 season.

I also think that if you don't know who your teams number one guy is going into the year, then that probably excludes you from having the best returning receiver,as of now of course, anything can happen during the year, but this is a preseason thread.

You obviously have to have metchie and boutte. Who else you got?

Yeah,I think we just need every teams nomination then rank those. That would be the way to do it,but it's not that serious .lol

Boutte will leave lsu with the career yardage record . I believe that.
Its gonna happen in 3 years.
Somebody will stay 4 and break it after him though.lol

It's just hard to not see it happen. Obviously we throw so much more now then years 2018 and before. Boutte will be our first stud to be in this type offense for his whole career.he started with a bang particularly at the end of 2020. He had 45 catches for 735 yards and 5 tds.

The really impressive thing was how the year weant. He was having a slow freshman season and all of the sudden, terrace marshall bitches out and quits on his teammates. The day this happened, the coaches told the wrs that someone had to step up and take on the load and be the number 1 guy.kayshon literally stood up in the meeting and said "coach ,that'll be me ,just watch".

That weekend against bama he goes for 111 yards and 8 catches.arik gilbert has a mental breakdown and leaves the team after that game.
Then we play florida, boutte ggoes for 108 and 1td on 5 receptions,as lsu pulls off the upset to show some semblance of life and pride.

After florida The next week we were going to play ole miss to try and to .500 to end a miserable season that was almost alot worse than it ended up being.those young guys stepped up after losing to bama by a million and having all of the "team leaders" quit on them. Coach pelini quit on them too.
Boutte emerges as a leader and the new number one receiver after the florida game .
The next week is the ole miss game where boutte breaks josh Reed's sec reception yards record.
He catches 14 passes for 308 yards and 3 tds.one of which was just having "the want" ,more then the opponent.

I think he can break it in 3 years ,the 735 yards is more than chase or anyone else had as a freshman when we were throwing the ball a bunch. He should easily get over 1,100 the next two years ,he will be right their.
It's just simple math really, the game is changing. Alot of teams are completing alot of passes to alot of great receivers all those team records will go down soon.

Sorry so long but he really was
a neat story after the way he took over for the guy who was our number 1 and quit

He's coming along very well - has been called out by our upperclassmen for putting the effort in

Burkes is number one on accomplishment. Should be unanimous first teamer in preseason. I think Pickens Boutte among others make a run at being the top by seasons end. Boutte my pick to lead the league in receiving yardage.

Good god. LSU fans can’t help themselves.

“Arik Gilbert is a generational TE. I have a feeling he will be the greatest to ever do it when it’s all said and done.”

“Grant Delpit will be a sure fire top 10 pick”

“Fournette is a once in a lifetime back”

LSU fans have a nasty habit of convincing themselves that a player is going to be unbelievable. And it usually takes a lot to convince them otherwise

Bro,I'm talking about the lsu career record for recieving yards. Have you seen the record? Have you seen how the offensive philosophy has changed in the sec. Most team records will be broken or have been broken recently.

The whole world had delpit a top ten pick after his sophomore year.

Fournettes the best back in lsu history arguably.

Arik gilbert was the highest rated tight end in 247s history. Him and Washington are two of the top talents at tight end coming out of high school ever.
All of these things can be argued
