Forget the Heisman, which has more or less devolved into a stats player on a highly ranked team and may or may not reflect the best player, who in your opinion is the best player (irrespective of position) in the country right now?
4 come to mind, IMHO:
Montravius Adams, Auburn
Jonathan Allen, Bama
Jabril Peppers, Michigan
Lamar Jackson, Louisville

The question actually has no accurate answer. You can't compare players that play different positions. Each has its own criteria for determining quality. If you think that QB is the most important position, then the best QB would have to be your choice.

Usually I pick against QB's because decent players at the position are usually wildly overrated. With that said there is no doubt in my mind that Lamar Jackson is the best player in College football.
For fun though best:
QB- Lamar
RB- LF7
WR- JuJu
TE- Butt
OL- No idea Maybe Cam
DL- Jon Allen
LB- Rueben Foster
CB- Quincy
S- Jamal Adams (Eddie Jackson here pre-injury)
All purpose- Peppers

The best football player is Jabril Peppers. He plays almost every position on the defense.

Offense - Jackson
Defense - Anderson

One of those doesn't belong.

Give me any of those and add in a healthy Fournette, too.

I finally got to watch Peppers this past weekend. He is fun to watch. I'm interested in where he settles at the next level. He could play the Buchannon role.

It hurts me to admit it but I gotta say Lamar Jackson. He's the only thing dragging a team of SEC rejects, 2nd chance transfers and a horrible offensive line to victories. All the other candidates listed are surrounded by 4 star and 5 star talent.
