Is this the make LSU fan feel good about something thread. Where LSU fan can say LSU so in so is better than a Bama Coach/players/program/etc.

Losing the Baseball series to Bama last weekend(something that happens pretty regularly based on head to head record) and losing game 1 last night to TAMU has really got you down. Looking for a pick you up from the the secrant , good luck.

I said it very plainly. LSU found a sport no one cared/cares about and put a disproportionate amount of effort into it because they were getting embarrassed in football year after year. They decided to hang it's hat a sport they could dominate at because no one else cares.

You disagree. The end.

Not true. Truth is, they found an insanely intellegent coach who was able to create something out of nothing. I am close family friends with a player on the 91 team. They were not pouring cash into baseball. That happened wayyyy later. Basically about 1997ish.

Both are great coaches.

I would add that Skip Bertman was a great AD as his retirement gig.

Maybe so but on almost every campus but lsu the only people watching college baseball games are players families and sports writers, for the most part.

99.9% of the US population doesn't know college baseball exists, so I'd say Saban.

Update: Just looked and couldn't even find a college baseball page on ESPN.

This thread is like asking if the dude who holds the high score record for Donkey Kong is as impressive as Nick Saban.

One of my favorite Sportcenter anchors. Both are awesome coaches who have raised their respective programs to crazy heights.

Unbiased. Non butt hurt opinion here...I go Saban.

CFB is tougher to win not because of the "everyone cares" argument but because every game is meaningful. Saban never lost more than one game in those championship years, there is more pressure to win every game in CFB. Whereas in College Baseball you can lose 3 games in the tourney and still win the whole thing.

I'd also say that Saban has done it in the most competitive division and conference in the history of college football of any time period.

Skip's run however is unrivaled in College Baseball

Who is Skip Bertman? That should answer your question.

Rod Dedeaux of Southern Cal won 10 CWS in 21 years, including 5 in a row.

You may as well throw in Pat Summitt if you're gonna include baseball.

The singe most impressive coach would be Wooden. No one has been able to match his success. Not Saban, not Bryant, not Coach K, not Roy Williams, not the great Dean Smith...no one comes close to what he achieved.
