On the radio and the little newspaper thing
they used to print his picks in the weekly Varsity menus - eat a greasy hotdog, do a crossword puzzle and read who Leonard says is gonna lose, with a bunch of country drawl

I always hunted for his program on the radio. He was great!

For those who were not fortunate enough to hear the program, here is a link to YouTube:

I had no idea it was still on the air. He definitely sounds different...if you listen to my link, but that could be a matter of age.

referenced the mascot of the team when he spoke of them. Georgia was "the red clay hounds." Georgia Tech was the "insects from the institute." Nebraska was the "big red thrashing machine." Perhaps some of you can remember other names he used.

We were often featured on that show. LOL

He said one time he came to Keeneland racetrack and all he picked were losers, so he modelled his show after picking losers.

I remember listening to it on the radio when my dad would take me home from karate lessons. He lived in Athens and was a UGA homer.

My dad would drive us to Tuscaloosa (or Birmingham) for home games and finding Leonard's Losers on the radio was part of the routine. Dad passed last year but those are great memories.
