Unless Costello gets hurt hard to imagine it's not him and every State QB until Leach gets fired. MSU will now throw the ball 50+ times a game.

Seems like a pointless thread until Leach leaves MSU as they have the only air raid offense in the SEC.

I heard Brennan is 4 lbs heavier than Burrow.

If we are talking just total yardage yea, it's going to be whoever plays QB at Mississippi State until Leach is gone. Every season.

No one really knows but Mac could have a huge year. Brennan isn't as tested as Mac so we don't know. Can he be 75% of what Joe was ? If so, that's a good season.

neither will likely come close to Costello who will be tossing it 50 times a game in Leach's offense.

MAYBE if MSU only plays 12 games and Brennan/Jones play 14/15 games it could make up some of the total yards, but really things should be a per game basis anyways.

Either first time starter or transfer.

For context, Leach's quarterback last season, Anthony Gordon, averaged 53 pass attempts per game in 2019. Joe Burrow averaged around 35 attempts per game.

Yea, it's basically equivalent to asking who will lead the nation in rush yards?

The answer is and always will be a triple option team.

Costello is the good bet, but he will face much tougher defenses in the SECW.

Hope the defense is ready for a lot of 3 and outs.

MSU doesn't have the weapons Bama has or LSU for that matter. I think Costello will get broken if he passes 50 times a game. You give up something to get something. Burrow was great avoiding pressure and he still got hit, a lot. Add 15-18 more passes per game and Costello's season could end early.

Eh, Leach will find a way. If that becomes a huge issue, they will get the ball out quicker. You can have a terrible/mediocre line and still pass the ball effectively with the right scheme.

The bigger issue will be keeping turnovers down and quick 3 and outs.

Not against the SEC heavyweights. Corners in the SEC are superior. It matters.

That's a pretty safe bet...

That is until Chad and Gus open up the playbook and start throwing it 40x/game!
