Whoa nellie! A Georgia fan's blistering assessment of UGA BB HC Tom Crean

UGA BB's in the tank...he's the captain...he needs to go DOWN with the ship! 
"If you fire him now (instead of March 10th) then you pay him an extra $3.2 million NOT to coach the final month and a half..
That's financially reckless and stupid. Because even if you fired him, this tomato can roster still wouldn't win.
BUT that's not the reason to not fire him, yet.
He has to stay here to absorb these losses on his resume. It's NOT fair to stick one of these assistants with 12-14 losses on their resume. They would never get a HC job if that happened.
No. Tom Crean's resume needs to show the history books that this happened. He needs to eat this turd whole. This is his mess. He created this fiasco. And future employers need to see that it happened. If he were fired tomorrow, he wouldn't have to take the losses and he could avoid the full measure of shame that's coming his way.
He made this mess. It will take us years to dig out from under it. He has to eat this turd whole. He can't just drop this in our lap and take $3.2 million back to his house in Tampa and say "peace out this is your problem now."

A lot of times Georgia fans have to preface any comment on the basketball team by mentioning how unimportant basketball is compared to football, how they don’t really care about the basketball team, or how they would always rather see the football team win rather than the basketball team, as if they’re mutually exclusive.
And then they wonder why we have regressed so much even as Auburn, Alabama, Tennessee, and LSU have improved so much as programs over the last six years. Crean sucks, and has done more to kill this program than anyone, but no one will succeed here as long as aggressive indifference towards basketball is part of our fanbase’s general personality.

When the only meaningful basketball memory I have in my life is the tornado SEC tourney in 2007 or '08, it's hard to force myself to care every year. I want UGA basketball to be in the tourney every year with a shot at Final Fours, but there is nothing in our history that says we can manage a big time basketball program.
For me it's not that I won't ever care. It's just apathy created by UGA not giving the basketball program the attention it gives football.

THE FOOTBALL championship brings more cash, but a basketball championship would bring a tenth of the money or more.
