No that's not it

Saban is better than Bielema. Spurrier is probably better (at least in his heyday). A few other coaches probably are too

But Sumlin? Nothing has shown me that Sumlin is some great coach people are making him out to be

I'm honored you created a spinoff thread.

Here are the career stats you left out:

Bielema:

9-13 against top 25 teams.
2-6 against top 10 teams.
2-4 in bowl games.

Sumlin:
8-3 against top 25 teams.
2-1 against top 10 teams.
3-1 in bowl games.

I think Texas A&M made the right call. Great fit for a school with a shitload of in state talent.

Can't stand the Aggies but they made a great hire.

According to this place championships are the only thing that matters so your post is moot.

Did this turn out how you expected? It looks like a bloodbath to me.

If Bielema had JFF he'd do amazing too

JFF is more important to that team than Sumlin

I'm thinking not a lot of people here watched Bielema at Wisconsin. He ran a very similar playing style as Nick Saban. Power run and strong defense. If I had to pick between Sumlin and Bielema to take over for Saban, I'd pick Bielema easily. He'd just fit better.

Assuming Bielema could recruit the same level of talent to Tuscaloosa.

I hear what you're saying though. In general, LSU and Bama are going for the best athletes and trying to win with as conservative an offense as we can run. Minimize turnovers, maximize matchup strengths. It's the best way to win consistently if you have the talent level to sustain it.

Can you get that level of talent to come to Fayetteville? That's the question.

I answered that based on who I'd want for Alabama. I think Sumlin would be better for Arkansas

That would be interesting to watch.

I'm just glad JFF got homesick and spurned Oregon.

Beavers have zero chance this year as it is.

Is this a joke thread? Sumlin has won in the SEC, Bielema hasn't.

Understood. I agree BTW.

Also agree.

I don't think the Piggies are going to like that answer though.

In all honesty I'm not sure. IMO A&M is gonna have a serious drop off after JFF is gone. As an AU fan I know about what happens after a high profile QB leaves.

I don't see either coach being anything more than average really (look at A&Ms defense, look at BBs offensive strategy) . If I had a gun to my head and the question was asked I'd probably say Sumlin though.

Why? Because he's an offensive guy?

Arkansas has had great defenses in the past. The idea that defense can't win at Arkansas is dumb
