SEC programs need to start hiring coaches who have proven they can build programs and win at multiple places.

McIntyre, Craig Bohl, Fuente, Gundy, etc

Keep him, things will get bad. Fire him, things will get bad. Either way, It's about to get very bad. They need to get off of their arse and hire an AD right away. The fact that no AD is in place complicates things.

And don't make the mistakes Florida (Muschamp) and UGA did by hiring coordinators with zero HC experience

Jim Bob Cooter would be an upgrade over Butch. He's a Tennessee Alum who's done wonders with Stafford at Detroit.

I don't understand the "nobody is available" mindset. Go open the checkbook, commit to winning through infrastructure and facilities, and get a coach. The status quo isn't working.

If Tennessee is serious and wants to be elite again, you get the money together and go get Chip Kelly, highly successful cfb coach flaming out in the NFL,(sound familiar) and promise him he doesn't have to do the booster bs because his defensive coordinator Charlie Strong will handle that, and then he'll start imagining what his offense could do backed up by a SEC defense.

A guy who would never be hired right now but that would kill it somewhere: Bill Clark.

JMO.

I know he is irrelevant when it comes to SEC jobs right now.
