My source is Woodward himself firsthand: Jimbo was never on his list of candidates at LSU and he was never offered.
Jimbo’s agent leveraged the LSU opening to get Jimbo that extension from aggy. It worked beautifully. It was in aggys best interest to spin the story that LSU was after Jimbo instead of the truth that you bid against yourselves for your own coach no one was coming after.
