If it was going to be Georgia, they would've already done it.

Give it 2 years:

1.) Richt retires
2.)Bobo named Head Coach
3.) ????
4.)3 NC's in 4 years

Miss State will never be a perennial top 5 program, that's just not who they are. I see Tennessee as next in line

Do they vote on this every year at the SEC Coaches meeting with Slime? Just wondered because I hear this often. I didn't know that the SEC had a caste system in place...Someone needs to let Mullen know cause he is going to overstep his boundaries

I would really like to see the ULM/Troy game. That would have to be epic

Arkansas was next in line. To me it has to be someone from the East that can beat Bama or LSU in the SECCG. My Prediction is Florida or Georgia will get back to contender status before anyone else.

It will be Florida or Tennessee, UGA will never do it with Richt there. It cracks me up every year when UGA wins a couple of games and their fans start talking championship, I almost feel sorry for them at this point.

Richt will never get it done at Georgia.

Well MSU is located in Starkville, MS. Strike 1. And no matter how many "This is Our State" billboards they plant all over MY state's highways, it's just, not. In fact, you share the state with Ole Miss and USM, and Alabama, and LSU, and Auburn. You have no recent success to point to, no tradition worth speaking of, and it's taken Mullen years to beat any single SECW team not named Ole Miss. I think it's more than fair to say MSU will never be elite.

I would say Florida or A&M. They are both in recruiting hotbeds.
UT will be back though, they won't be down forever.

I hope it's Ole Miss though. I don't hate them, and I truly feel I can

I feel the same way. I guess I'm just not old enough to truly hate them the way I feel would make our forefathers proud. Maybe that's just because the last time they went 3-0 I was 4?? I dunno

I'm the same way. I'm 31 and obviously don't know the great rivalry that was. Tulane is the same way. I moved back to New Orleans almost 4 years ago, and I met my first true Tulane fan last week.
I hope the Shelties can fill the void.

If MSU ever gets close, someone from ole miss will get us hammered by the NCAA for our QB being given a birthday card. We're like a bucket of crabs, nobody escapes.

I am old enough, and it was a great rivalry back in the day. Imagine having Saban/Bama as your next-door neighbor state, plant 'em in an Oak Grove, give 'em Rebel Flags to wave and a Hoddie-Toddie elitist attitude. Plus, they were ranked among the top teams back then and could beat LSU at least as often as LSU beat them. That's close to how it felt; it was so easy to hate Ole Miss instead of feeling pity for the shell they have become of their former selves like we probably do now.

They've hired two "elite" coaches so far and haven't come close to doing it yet. Not happening.
