True dis. Grad Class of ‘67. Went to my 10th. We were all 28ish and looking mostly good. Had time to talk and catch up with classmates. Skip forward to our 50th - the cheerleader and rah-rah girls got control of running the reunions and things shifted to the popular group and their notions of what the classmates would want. Their brainstorm for our 50th was to recreate our SR. Prom, including having the same band (survivors) play. Problem was the bulk of the class has aged beyond those glory days of yore. The band was so loud and constant that nobody could hear anybody else to visit or talk, even sitting right next to each other. Frustrating and disappointing for those wanting to “catch up” with old friends and acquaintances. We had all aged up to the point that few were recognizable as the same classmates from back in the day. I was also stunned to learn of the ones who were deceased - knew of a few, but there were also surprises listed on our memorial table.
Had looked forward to my 50th, but overall I found it a downer, and will not be going to any more. That ‘67 ship has sailed.
