Who will be the GameDay Celebrity Picker?

It seems like GameDay notoriously picks people who have little to no real connection to Alabama.
Who could be chosen? Joe Namath? Joe Scarborough? Kaitlan Collins? Justin Thomas? Channing Tatum?

When did that begin? For the 9-6 game in 2011 ESPN had former LSU pitcher Brian Wilson. I doubt Alabama said, "Hey,ESPN? Why don't you get an LSU guy for gameday here in Tuscaloosa?"

Not the way it used to be. We've had several non-BAMA fans at ours in T-Town and the school would not have picked them.

No, that is accurate. The school reaches out to their choices for the guest picker, and coordinates those choices with ESPN. That's been the case with Ole Miss each time.

It is a production staff decision. They attempt to find someone of note with school or regional ties for the home program the majority of the time and certainly take host preference into consideration, but they have the ultimate say. If the Mouse is promoting something, you get a random picker. Or, the producers just want someone else, so be it. The guest has to be able to meet show timelines and avoid any professional conflicts with ESPN (Disney).
