legit contenders:
Alabama- tons of talent, Saban factor.
LSU- defending champ, returns the QB and a lot more starters.
A&M (yes, really)- solid talent level, young QB might take the next step, rebound after last year

These are my picks, too.

I might would narrow it down to Alabama and LSU. I just think it could go either way.

This is the last chance for Ole Miss.

I expect some weird shite to go down where they get another co-champions banner and miss Atlanta again.

But it is a trend. On average, Brian Kelly loses 4 games a year.

I'd love to see your work on this, because it's patently false.

They should be better than last year. They have more depth. They have recruited well. The players have been in the system longer. After last years success they should be bought in.

I'm not sure why people feel like there will be a fall off, unless they feel like LSU was a bit of a fluke. I don't see it.

I looked up Brian Kelly's coaching record. Looked at wins and loss record and number of years coaching D1 football. Didn't do the math just glanced at it. But after doing the actual math it comes out to 3.66666667 losses a year.

What’s everyone’s honest take on who wins the west?

If we had solidified a starter in the Spring I would pick Bama, but right now its LSU or TAMU.

LSU is THE favorite, but I think its fairly easy to project A&M improving offensively. Talented QB, one of the best 5 WRs in the country in Stewart. Talented, deep DL thats a year older now.

LSU has a lot of the same things going for them too though, and guys on both sides of the ball (Daniels and Perkins) who can take over a game.

BAMA is going back to the "Joyless Murderball" that our football fans know so well and the SEC hates so much.

And this is what the rest of the SEC doesn't want to see. Bama was a machine playing this way. They loved Bama throwing it 60 times a game and watching our defense being lazy, confused and undisciplined. The thing I've noticed here is that most people here don't know jackshite about football and think this will be the same BOB offense from the last two years just without Bryce. Saban ran the gameplan for the Sugar Bowl and Bama threw like 25 times. This offense will look nothing like the last few years.
We'll see how Reas works out but adding Steele was an immense upgrade. His attacking style will be so refreshing. Saban had tried to delegate too much the last couple years and stepped back in the fray in the Sugar Bowl. he wont be delegating like he did anymore.

The way you make it sound is that a few years ago Saban decided to stop doing murderball and have a lazy and confused defense for… no reason. How does this make any sense?

What I said was State's '98 West championship isn't the major success y'all trumpet it to be on here because (a) the division was the weakest in history and (b) y'all were only a slightly above average, 8-5 team who was blown out in multiple games.

Oh. So like your baseball national championship.

Florida- year 2 might be the key for Billyball. Good running game, has SEC talent almost everywhere

Nah, may have SEC level talent, but Sunbelt level coach.

Bama. Until they start to show some real decline, I think you have to pick them.

Haha. The haters didn't like your post but you're smart for picking BAMA.

It's trolling.
LSU is preseason Top 10, returns a dynamic QB who is preseason All SEC and on the Heisman watchlist, as well as the entire O Line, and almost all skill players. On defense the line and linebackers should be strong, there are All SEC players on both. The secondary is a question.

Saturday, November 4, 7pm (CBS) in Bryant-Denny Stadium. Whoever wins that game, Bama or LSU, will be the final SECW champ.

It's typical Alabama delusion.
